30, 1965 at St. Francis Seminary, Staten Hannah Bresnahan, ex-dairy executive FREEHOLD Hannah Bresnahan, 89, died yesterday at Freehold Area Hospital, Freehold Township She was vice president and treasurer of Freehold Dairy, retiring in 1985 after 26 years. Mrs. Bresnahan was a member of First United Methodist Church, here, where she was a member of the Dorcas Circle. She was a member of the Woman's Club of Freehold and the Freehold Retirees.

Born in Bradley Beach, she lived in Freehold most of her life. Her husband, William died in Nursing Home, here. Mr. Howard was a retired chef and cooking supervisor, working for various restaurants. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Ocean Grove for several years before moving to Tinton Falls.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH Roy B. Basso, chairman of the board of trustees of the Medical Center of Ocean County and a former Mayor of Point Pleasant Beach, died yesterday at the Point Pleasant Hospital division of The Medical Center of Ocean County. He was 73. Mr. Basso was a member of the hospital board of trustees for 20 years, and its chairman for the past 10 years.

The medical center changed its name Sunday from the Northern Ocean Hospital system. During that time, he lead Point Pleasant Hospital through its biggest growth period, the reorganization into a hospital system and the construction of Brick Hospital, which opened in 1984, with 120 beds. Mr. Basso's leadership and accom 1982 photo HOWARD mere are no known survivors. Ely Funeral Home, Neptune, is in charge of arrangements.

ROY B. BASSO Concerned with the community RlTA VAN HOUTEN, 61, of Union Beach, died yesterday at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel Township. With her husband, Mrs. Van Houten operated Van's Taxi Union Beach. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 438, Red Bank.

Born in Jersey City, she lived in Keansburg before moving to Union Beach 25 years ago. Surviving are her husband, Irving; two sons, Howard Johnson, Roselle Park, and Thomas Johnson, Reading, a daughter, Theresa Carmicheal, East Keansburg section of Middletown Township; a sister, Mary McCluskey, Union Beach; and five grandchildren. Augustine barbetta, 74, of He began' his business career in 1933 in Brooklyn working as a cashier, "V-tAlli Qr bookkeeper, and manager for a food VdlClll ex-bank official plishments were recognized on April 26, 1985 when he was inducted as the second member of the Health System Hall of Fame and honored with a testimonial dinner. A plaque presented to him that night now hangs in Point Pleasant Hospital's Medical Library.

The hospital board of trustees recently voted to name the Emergency Care Center at Point Pleasant Hospital after Mr. Basso and his wife, Frances, who has been a long time volunteer at the hospital and a member of the Point Pleasant Hospital Guild. Hospital President Richard J. Leone said "Roy was an extraordinary human being. He always placed the concern about the people of his community above any personal interest He was loved by everyone who knew him.

We will miss Roy very much but our lives are richer for having known him." Mr. Basso served as a borough councilman from 1958-1963, and was Mayor of Point Pleasant Beach from 1964-1966. Just days after leaving public of importing company. He was there until 1942. During his working days, Mr.

Basso attended St John's University in Brooklyn, majoring in accounting and commercial law. In 1942, he went to work as an expediter and material control manager for Anna a naval plant in Brooklyn. In 1946, Mr. Basso moved to Ocean County and established his Oldsmobile dealership at Bay and Trenton Avenues, here. He served on the advisory board of the Pineland State Bank, Brick Township.

He has served as a trustee for St MANTOLOKING Joseph Catelli 77, died Sunday at Point' Pleasant Hospital division of The Med-' ical Center of Ocean County. Mr. Catelli was senior vice presi-' dent of the Princeton Bank Trust Princeton, retiring in 1975 after 50f years. He stayed on as a director of the bank until 1980. He was a graduate of Rider Col-'," lege, Trenton, and the Wharton School of Business, Philadelphia.

Mr. Catelli was a life member df the Kingston Volunteer Fire Company, South Brunswick Township, and a for-. Keyport, died yesterday at home. Known as Augie, he was a re tired custodian at Keyport High School. Surviving are his wife, the former Carolyn McLawhom; two sons, Derrick and Tyrone, both Chicago; three daughters, Angela, Antoinette, and Debra, all Chicago; five stepdaughters, Shirley Thomas, Tacoma, Wanda Grimes, Trenton, Rosalyn Grimes, Asbury Park, Arlene and Lorraine Grimes, both Neptune; his mother, Ellen Stroud, Chicago; and a sister, Candy Manos, Florida.

In a 1984 newspaper story, Mr.

Basso explained "There was no stopping the hospital's growth. As the population of Monmouth and Ocean Counties grew, we tried our darndest to keep pace or even ahead. And it's still the same story." Although he had planned to take it easy, Mr. Basso said "Trusteeship gave him an opportunity to repay his community for some of his success." Mr. Basso and his brother, William, owned the Oldsmobile agency that bore their name in Point Pleasant Beach until 1983, when they sold it and retired.

Monmouth Frank f. eichler, 68, of the West Keansburg section of Hazlet Township, died Sunday at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel Township. He was a bulldozer operator for the Manzo Matawan, employed for 22 years before retiring on disability in 1976. Mr. Eichler was an Army veteran ofWorldWarll.

He attended the United Methodist Church, Keansburg. Born in West New York, N.J., he lived in West Keansburg for 34 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Edith Van Gelder, a son, Frank Keansburg; a daughter, Rosemary Baker, Port Monmouth section of Middle-town Township; a brother and sister in North Jersey; and three grandchildren.
