D. Flint, Mich. The 0.1. Chrerhoit Motors The Combination of Power and Economy has been the goal of all car manufacturers. Power means quick acceleration; Hill Climbing on high and Flexible Control it also means liberal Motor Displacement.

Economy means small Motor Displacement. The Enger Invention for the first time truly combines Power and Economy. We predict this invention will revolutionize Motor Car BY ACTUAL TEST a 1917 Model Enger Touring Car Equipped with "TWIN" Motor ran 35 miles on one gallon of gasoline-Made possible by an invention that has revolutionized Motor Car Performance. To the remarkable performance of the "TWELVE" Cylinder Motor, in the Enger "TWELVE" we have added wonderful Economy. 5914 -Penh Ave- Pittsburgh, Fa.

miand 8800. A recent change in Indianapolis ayto-mobile circles discloses the fact little known and appreciated locally that Indianapolis has the distinction of possessing the largest Ford equipment plant in world, rivaling in organiza-ion facilitis the Ford plant, itself. The vast importance of this local Industry is forcibly impressed by the fact that R. P. Henderson has severed his connection with the Cole Motor Car Co.

to take up the management of sales and advertising for the Parry Manufacturing Co. Mr. Henderson has been actively connected with the automobile business since the organization of the Cole Co. in. 1909.

He was associated with his brother, C. P. Henderson, who is now general sales manager for the Cole Motor Car in the organization and management of the Henderson Motor Car which bought and marketed the entire output of the Cole plant during the first three years of its existence. In 1911 Mr. Henderson was made director of the Cole Co.

An interesting sidelight on Mr. Henderson's latest move is that he is returning to take up the duties that he dropped with the Parry Manufacturing Co. when he entered the automobile business some years ago, except that now his efforts will be directed toward creating a worldwide demand for special Ford, Maxwell and other automobile equipment instead" of promoting the sale of horse-drawn vehicles as in former years. The Parry Manufacturing Co. plant is well fitted to take up this line of manufacturing in a colossal way.

It is one of the largest plants In Indiana, located on a tract of ti't acres in West Indianapolis with ap proximately three miles of private railroad track, has approximately square feet of floor space, with over 3o miles of pipe automatic sprinkler eystem. It ia one of the wealthiest manufacturing institutions in the city, has immense manufacturing facilities, a paid in capital of over $1,000,000 and a production plan built along efficiency lines, owing to the position it occupies as the "world's largest carriage factory." With these assets of money and experience, the Parry Co. will unquestionably take first rank in volume and importance among manufacturers not only in the city of Indianapolis but the entire United States. St. Clair Parry, president of.

the Parry Manufacturing in speaking of the recent step, ays: "Having Mr. Henderson associated with us in line with our plans to develop a worldwide source of supply for pleasure bodies, both roadster and touring, commercial bodies of all types, automobile trailers, and in short, everything that may be demanded in quantity for the popular makes of light can such as Ford, Maxwell, Overland, Dodge, etc. "In addition to these specified products, we expect to manufacture along quantity lines, an improved type of wire wheel for cars of the above class. We also have other plans of production which we are not as yet ready to announce. Other than the addition of Mr.

Henderson, who will have full charge of sales promotion work, we are making no other change In our organization." iiimiim'h inmmmm Some cars have plenty of Power, but use lots of gasoline. Other cars have speed, but will-not run smoothly below five miles per hour on high. A few cars are Efficient in consumption of gasoline, but lack quick acceleration. Have you heard of a car that has equaled the following performance, which can be demonstrated to you with any Standard Model Enger "TWIN" Motor? Economy 35 miles to a gallon of gasoline. Acceleration From standing start to 25 miles per hour in 5 seconds.

Flexibility One mile to sixty miles per hour on high. Power Even flow of abundant power. Explosion every sixty degrees of crank shaft revolution. Vibration Eliminated. Weight of Aluminum Pistons, SY2 ounces.

Have a demonstration in the 1917 Enger equipped with "TWELVE" Cylinder Valve-in-Head Motor. More Power, More Get-a-Way, More Speed, More Economy. A perfectly balanced car with greater flexibility. The Simplicity pf this Enger Invention (patent applied for) will appeal strongly. In the 1917 Enger we find a "TWIN-UNIT TWELVE," a Standard 12-Cylinder Valve-in-Head Motor with Aluminum Pistons; a motor with large power that will accelerate the car rapidly, climb hills on high and have a large reserve of power for speed.

A slight shift of the Economy Lever and we have a six-cylinder motor of small cubic displacement, but plenty of power for ordinary driving. The Enger "TWIN-UNIT TWELVE" truly combines Power and Economy. With the 12 Cylinders you have power and luxurious advantages. With the 6 Cylinders you have most remarkable economy and with the small weight of the Aluminum Pistons (5y2 oz.) the ab-sense of vibration is remarkable. See this truly remarkable car; ride in it.

The Power, the Economy, the Absence of Vibration are convincing. Remember, the Enger "TWIN-UNIT TWELVE" is not an expert ment; we have been building 12-cy Under cars for over a year, and the Economy attachment has been tested for tens of thousands miles. "The best evidence of the satisfaction which we have felt, as a user of the Smith Form-a-Truck, is demonstrated in the fact that our first truck, which was purchased as an experiment on our part, proved so highly satisfactory in every way that we have ordered two more and before the year is over we fully expect to add at least along Motor Row Engineer Gunn is subjecting the new I remier to a gruelling 1 v. and is looked up lorough test before giving It ms aD- i thnrniiffh prise, as Mr. ts Pre joining- the Oakland buildings on the approved. to as one of the Earl G.

In Engineer Gunn put 25 of these motors, commonly disguised by paint, into stock cars and distributed them evenly throughout the United States with the result that not a single one was reported as faulty. The car now being driven by Engineer Gunn carries the Cutler-Hammer gear shift, which he reports has a tremendous advantage on the tough hills on which he is now testing. IF NOT ITS TIME TO That Mr. Morrow has made a suc Cars cess of this venture goes without say ing. The Oldsmobile business, through his capable management, has grown by leaps and bounds, and with the close of the 1916 selling season, the sales in the Pittsburg territory are the largest ever in the history of the company, and one of the largest of any of the Oldsmobile distributorsthrough-out the country. i Mr. Morrow's close study of the motor car business, its econcmics and scientific management, is largely responsible for the great success he has attained.

The tremendous number of enthusiastic letters which are received every day by the Smith For-a-Truck and which they in turn send to me and to their other representatives throughout the country, are the best evidence that my own Judgment in selling the Smith Foim-a-Truck. as the most efficient type of motor transportation in the world, is thoroughly justified.

They only serve to confirm which I am retaining from my own territory every week. The Smith Form-a-Truck has established a new era in transportation costs and brought delivery down to a definite basis, and a basis which insures steady profits from a department which has previously been considered by the majority of concerns as a necessary but Irksome expense.
