i Superintendent Guy II. Capps has accepted Position for Another Year. New Schedule of Salaries. The Board of Education of Monett School District re-elected Superintendent Guy H. Capps, for another year and Mr.

Capps has accepted the position. The schools under Mr. Capps supervision have progressed ificely, and he has succeeded, with the help of the faculty, in -building up excellent school spirit. 1 Principal of the High School Finis E. Engleman was also re-elected some time ago, but he has not yet acceptc the place.

Mr. Engleman has done excellent work in the class room and as athletic director in the high school. The other Principals, Miss Daisy Johnson, of Central school, Mrs. Olga Galloway, of Plymouth school, Miss Demmah Hamilton, of Forest Park school and Miss Kate Mooney, of Marshall Hill school, have also be-re-elected. Most of the teachers will bo offered their positions again.

Since the state board of not yet acted on the assessments, it is uncertain just what the school revenues for next year will be. The Board of Education, however, are doing everything in their power to pay living wages to the teachers in Monett and are striving to secure the most efficient possible faculty for next year The following schedule of salaries for the teachers in tko city schools for next year was adopted by the board in a meeting held, Wednesday night. Elementary Teachers Class A Teachers with 30 hours' college credit and less than three years' experience, and teachers now in the system with less than 80 hours' credit $75. Class Teachers with 80 or more hours' college credit and three or more years' successful experience, $81. Class Teachers with 45 or more, hours' college credit anj three or more years' successful experience, $87.

High School Teachers. Class A Teachers with less than 90 hours' college credit (a minimum of 60 hours is required), $111. Class Teachers with 90 or more hours' college credit, $125. Class Teachers of special or vocational subjects salary to be fixed in each case by Board of NOTE The scholarship factor used above will be determined by the number of college hours credited to each teacher 'on September 1, 1920. In adopting this salary the Board of Education endorses the principles embodied in the schedules proposed by the Monett Teachers' Association.

1'he proposed figures not be reached this year on accourt of limited revenues, but the Board expects to make further advances next year, in which scholarship, length of service, and efficiency will receive due recognition. H. A. GARDNER, President. 'D.

American troops in El Paso tonight were ordered to be prepared for action in event a threatened uprising in Juarez endangers this city. Military police in the city have been issued rifles and ammunition, and thrt city police have, made arrangements to patrol a dead line in the lower part of the city beyond which civilians will not be permitted to go in the direction of the Rio Grande. Chapman, Mrs. W. W. Hisaw, Helen Eiskina Edith Rose and Marie Hawkins. The pupils attending were Mabel, Anna, Maud, Pauline and Hornie Hawkins, Steven and Florence Eiskina, Edward Baker, Evelyn, Harold, Fred and Ehvood Chapman, Mabel Rose, John Hisaw, Sadie, Ophelia, Anna and John Volkl.

The'y all enjoyed the clay very much- and the teacher, Miss Alice Planchon.w ill be rememdered by zi the pupils for her kindness. Misses Rose and Victoria Fcla'rske and Helen Eisgina visited with Mis. W. W. Hisaw, Monday evening.

Dorfield has been sick for several days but is now able to be -back at her work. Mrs. Walter Youiiker and Miss Helen Eisk'ina visited with Mrs. W. W.
