Mr. Romano was born in Italy and lived in Newark most of his life. He spent his summers at the Long Branch hotel, which is only open during the summer season.

He was a communicant of St. Leo's Roman Catholic Church, Irvington. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Assunta Romano; two sons, Ralph and Stanley, both of here; five daughters, Miss Rafaela Romano, with whom he lived, Mrs. Theresa Benincase, Mrs.

Linda Ulrich, Mrs. Maureen Picollo, all here, Mrs. Josephine Farina, Edison; eight grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren. The Charles J. Rotondo and Sons Funeral Home, here, is in charge of ar- rangements.

CHARLES H. RASMUSSEN NEW SHREWSBURY Charles H. Rasmussen, 63, of 19 Reeds died Friday at his home. He was born in Hoboken and had lived here 16 years. He formerly lived in New York.

His wife was the late Margaret Stewart Rasmussen. sen. He was an auditor for Shenley Distributors, New York. He was a member of Red Bank Elks 233 and the Kiwanis Club of New Shrewsbury. He is survived by several cousins.

The Robert A. Braun Home for Funerals, Eatontown, is in charge of arrangements. ROBERT L. BAUMAN MANASQUAN Robert L. Bauman, 54, of 10 died Friday at Patterson Army Hospital, Ft.

Monmouth. He was born in Mt. Vernon, and had lived in Newport News, before moving here 19 years ago. He retired in 1965 as a radar engineer for the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army after 23 years of service.

He was a sergeant first class at the time of his retirement. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a communicant of the St. Denis R.C. Church, here.

Surviving are three daughters, the Misses Elizabeth, Kathleen, and Diane Bauman, all at home; two brothers, Lloyd, Mt. Vernon, and Jim, Livermore, and two sisters, Mrs. Della Woodward, Evansville, and Mrs. George White, Mt. Vernon, Ind.

Ida May Deery, 75, of 258 Highwood Road, died Friday at the Medicenter, Neptune City. Mrs. Deery was born in Trenton and lived in Irvington before moving here 30 years ago. She was the widow of William J. Deery.

JOHN F. DAYBACK NEWARK Mrs. Mary A. Dayback, 69, of 259 Mt. Prospect died Friday night at the Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.

She was born here and had lived here most of her life. Mrs. Dayback was a frequent visitor of the Shore, staying at 18 Haug Union Beach. Surviving are her husband, John a son, John Union Beach; a brother, Joseph Burns, Garwood, and six grandchildren. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, is in charge of arrangements.

JOHN STEPANIAN BRICK TOWNSHIP John Stepanian, 73, of 339 Montana Drive, died yesterday at Point Pleasant Hospital. Mr. Stepanian was born in Greece and came to the United States in 1902. He lived in Weehawken before moving here five years ago. He formerly owned the Step Electrical Weehawken, and had retired six years ago.

He was a member of the Old Guard of Greater Point Pleasant and Wakefield Lodge 211, Fort Lee. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ida Stepanian; a son, John, Closter; a daughter, Mrs. Joan Dennery, here; two brothers, Steven, Charlery, and Richard, Naples, a sister, Mrs. Alice Turnamian, North Bergen; and two grandchildren.

PETERSBURG, Fla. Mrs. Rosetta Millwater, 78, of 4029 13th Ave. South, died Friday at the Palms of Pasedena Hospital, Pasadena. She was born in New York and formerly lived in Island Heights, N.J.

She was the widow of the late Stephen D. Millwater. She was a life member of the PTA of Island Heights, N.J., a past trustee Girls Friendly Holiday House, a girl's camp in Island Heights, N.J., and a member of the Red Cross of Somerset County, N.J. Surviving are six sons, Stephen here, James Brick Township, N.J., Charles Point Pleasant Beach, N.J., William Fairfield, Harry San Antonio, and George Cinnaminson Township, N.J.; six daughters, Mrs. Florence Brooks, Bound Brook, N.J., Mrs.

Sare Reilly and Mrs. Frances Sariano, both of here, Mrs. Alice Boss, Largo, Mrs. Dorothy Sariano, W. Long Branch, N.J., and Mrs.

JAMES ROCKWELL ASBURY PARK James Rockwell, 84, of 508 Asbury a retired insurance underwriter, died Friday at his home. He had been employed by Chub and Son, New York, and retired in 1954. He was born in New York and moved here 15 years ago.

His wife, Marion Weldon Rockwell, died in 1954. Surviving is a son, Robert, Albany, N.Y.; a daughter, Mrs. Jessie Horrocks, Baltimore, a sister, Miss Leila Rockwell, with whom he lived; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The Richard C. ANTHONY PAPANERI ASBURY PARK Anthony Papaneri, 69, of 508 Munroe died Thursday at his home. Before he retired, he was a maintenance man. He was born in New York. There are no known survivors. The Buckley Funeral Home, here, is in charge of arrangements.

A. DUNBAR JR. LAKEWOOD Alexander Dunbar 81, of 46J Cambridge Court, died Friday at Paul Kimball Hospital, here. He was born in Providence, R.I., and had lived in Matawan before moving here years ago. He retired 17 years ago as a stationary engineer for the Seaboard Coal South Amboy.

He was a World War I NaVV veteran member of St. Stevens Lodge, South Amboy; a 32nd degree mason; a member of the Square Club of Leisure Village, here, and the Junior Order of American Mechanics, South Amboy. He also was a member of the American Legion Post of Point Pleasant. He is survived by his widow, Sara, and a daughter, Mrs. Earl Woolley, here.

Mrs. Bowman was born Woodstown and had lived in this area 24 years. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Temple, and the Golden Age Club at the West Side Community Center, both here, and belonged to the woman's auxiliary at Deborah Hospital, Browns Mill. She also was a member of Senior Club at the Comstock ApartCitizens, ments where she lived.

Geol BRIELLE snot Inde9 INTERIORS of' 3309 highway 70, brielle phone 223-4400 vol Arthur McBride, Founded Browns CLEVELAND (AP) Arthur "Mickey" McBride, who founded the Cleveland Browns' professional football team in 1946, died Friday night in Cleveland Clinic following a heart attack.

He was 85. McBride, who had varied business interests, was a former president of the Yellow Cab Co. in Cleveland. He was born in Chicago and came to Cleveland in 1913 as circulation manager of the former Cleveland News. He resigned from the newspaper in 1930 to devote his time to personal interests.

After World War I1, McBride hired Paul Brown as coach and general manager in the formation of the Browns. He sold the team in 1953 for a reported $600,000 to a syndicate headed by the late Dave Jones. McBride first came to national attention as owner of Continental Press, a race wire news service and scratch sheets publisher. The race wire service was the subject of inquiry by the Senate Crime of 1950 and 1951 headed by Sen. Estes Kefauver of Tennessee.

Following the committee hearings Congress passed legislation which outlawed such wire services and Continental Press went out of existence. McBride lived in a downtown Cleveland hotel in his later years and also spent considerable time in Florida. MRS. RODERICK E. KERR RUMSON Mrs.

Ruth C. Kerr, 56, of 122 Avenue of Two Rivers, died yesterday at Riverview Hospital, Red Bank, after a long illness. She was born in Brooklyn and had lived here 12 years. She was a member of St. George's-by-the-River Episcopal Church, here.

She was formerly employed by the public affairs department of the American Broadcasting Co. network and in 1954 was a member of the Commission on Press, Radio and Television of the United Lutheran Church of America. She was a graduate of Spence School, 'New York City, and Wheaton College, Norton, Mass. Surving her husband, Roderick E. Kerr; a son, Roderick at home, and a brother, the Rev.

Charles D. Trexler Roosevelt, N.Y. The Adams Memorial Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements. AUBREY J. DURRUA KEYPORT-Aubrey J.

Durrua. 79, of 73 Osborn died Friday at Bay Shore Community Hospital, Holmdel Township. He was taken to the hospital after he callapsed while walking on Division street near E. Front Street. He was a retired painter and interior decorator.

Mr. Durrua was a native of Keyport. He was a Navy veteran of World War I. He was a member of the American Legion, Raritan Post 23; the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4247, and the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 76, Keansburg. Surviving is his daughter, Mrs.

Audrey Phillips, Clifton, and a grandaughter. The Bedle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. FORREST S. BAZLEY LONG BRANCH Forrest S. Bazley, 83, of 27 Sixth died yesterday at Monmouth Medical Center.

He was a life long resident of Long Branch. He was a retired projectionist for Walter Reade Theaters and a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employes and Motion Picture Machine Operators. He was an Army veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife, Majorie Cordes Bazley; Thomas here; a' sister, Mrs. Helen Graves, here, and two grandchildren.

died Friday at Paul Kimball Hospital. Mrs. Laine was born here and lived in New York before returning here 11 years ago. She was the widow of Benjamin Laine. She was a member of Chapter 49, Order of the Eastern Star, here.

De Bow Funeral Home, Jackson Township, is in charge of arrangements. Harry Maurer, Former Fire Chief KEYPORT-Harry Maurer, 77, of 190 2nd a volunteer fierman, died Friday at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel Township. He was a retired machinist. Mr. Maurer was a native of Keyport.

He was a former chief of the Keyport Fire Department a member of the Engine Company for 54 years. He was a member of Caesarea Lodge, No. 64, the Bayside Lodge, No. 193; Independent Order of Oddfellows; Coronal Council Royal Arcanum, and the Sons and Daughters of Liberty. Surviving are his widow, the former Zelma Poling; three brothers, Winfield and Charles, both here, and Herman, South Orange; and two sisters, Miss Minnie Mauer, here, and Mrs.

Bertha Gulden, Cliffwood, Matawan Township. The Bedle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. RAYMOND T. MACK FREEHOLD Raymond T. Mack, 65, of 11 Stokes died yesterday at the Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

He was born in Colts Neck Township. Mr. Mack retired last April as a truck driver for the Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital, Marlboro Township. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C.

Church, here. Mr. Mack's wife was the late Elinor Quinn Mack, who died in 1970. Surviving are three sons, William and Raymond both of here, and Edward Oakhurst, Ocean Township; a daughter, Miss Elizabeth M. Mack, here; a brother, Timothy and a sister, Mrs.

Mary Steen, both of Freehold Township. The Freeman Funeral Home, here, is in charge of arrangements. MISS SARAH H. REID JACKSON TOWNSHIP Miss Sarah H. Reid, 86, a retired missionary who lived at Lakeside Lodge, Bates died Friday at Paul Kimball Hospital, Lakewood.

Miss Reid was born in Hoboken and lived in New York before moving here 10 years ago. She had served as a missionary in China more 30 years for the Episcopal Church, and was associated with the Church's executive council of the Overseas Division. J. Hallam Conover, Freehold Architect FREEHOLD J. Hallam Conover, 75, of 25 Schanck an architect, died yesterday at the Freehold Area Hospital, Freehold Township, He was born here. Mr. Conover was graduated from Harvard University.

He was a member of the N.J. Society of Architects. He served in the Army Air Force during World War I. He was a scoutmaster of Troop 14, here, for many years. He also was a member of St.

Peter's Episcopal Church, here. His wife was the late Henrietta White Conover, who died in 1956. Surviving are a son, Peter, Baltimore, a daughter, Mrs. Gretchen C. Batchelar, Point Pleasant; a sister, Mrs.

Lawrence, 49, of 123 Lena died Friday at Paul Kimball Hospital, Lakewood, after suffering a heart atack. He was a consulting engineer with J. M. Di Giacinto and Associates, Trenton. He was born in Newcomb, N.Y.

He had lived in Lakewood before moving here eight years ago. Mr. Lawrence, a World War II Marine Corps veteran, was a past commander of the Paul R. Michael Detachment, Marine Corps League, Lakewood, and a member of Phifer Melton Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lakewood. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow, the former Elizabeth Wessell; two sons, Wayne Port Meyers, and Curtis Lakewood; a brother, Ellis, Wallingford, and a sister, Mrs. Orena Conroy, Lake Placid, N.Y. The W.
