The WB network is known for its drama shows, such as "Dawson's Creek," and its comedy shows, such as "The Jamie Foxx Show." Head's interest in acting was apparent when he was a young child. "I was always pretending to be other things, dressing up and stuff like that," he said. "I used to play Superman when I was four years old.

I guess that's how it all started." His mother, Susan Head, agreed. "He would always dress up and learn lines," she said. "I thought that was what he wanted to do, but I ignored it because kids usually don't know what they want to do at that age." Susan and Jesse Head left Seguin for Los Angeles in search of acting success when Jesse was a seventh-grader at Saegert Middle School. Since his arrival, Susan Head said her son's pursuit has been a difficult one. "You come out here and hit the pavements like the other actors," she said.

"You audition and audition and audition until you finally get something where they like you. It didn't come easy for him. He's been in "Blank Check" demonstrated that the acting business is very serious and time-consuming. She said it was not a problem for him at all. "When I got him on the set with 'Blank I wanted to show him this isn't all fun and games," she said.

"I thought it would be hard work for him, but he loved it even more. He took to it like a duck to water, He knew how to do it instinctively." After the spot in "Blank Check," Jesse Head got an agent, Kristi Traylor of Calliope Talent and Modeling Agency in San Antonio. Working under Traylor landed Jesse many commercials around the San Antonio area. "The first thing -she signed him on was a regional commercial in Austin for Honda," Susan said. "He got it in his first audition.

Right after that, he did an audition for the San Antonio Zoo, and he got that. he did an audition for, a San Antonio Taco Cabana commercial, and he got that one. Then, he auditioned for an HEB commercial, and he got that. "When we went to interview with Kristi, Jesse was so shy with her when she would ask him a question. She said there was just something special also istars.

Park Overall and Jay -Thomas, "They were going to call (the show) 'Citizen she said. "It kind of has a ring to it. (Katie) is very outspoken and country. It's a really cute story." In the show, Katie Joplin, played by Overall, is a character from the South who moves to Philadelphia with her son, Gray, played by Head, in an attempt to make things work with her husband once again. Things do not go well between Katie and her husband, but she stays in Philadelphia and gets job in talk radio, via her boss, played by Thomas.

Her style on the microphone is very open and blunt. Jesse Head described Gray as a person with some of the same characteristics he holds. "He's from a small town in Tennessee," he said. "He's sort of into the music and baggy pants. He is kind of like me.

The only difference between us is he has the southern accent." When not rehearsing for "Katie Joplin," Jesse Head is a home-school student. He said the lifestyle of a student-actor is a hectic but rewarding experience. "It has its ups and downs," he said. "I've been in home school since the eighth grade. It's fun when I get my homework done in two or three favorite Along with being a regular teenager, Jesse recently became an uncle as his two older brothers, Todd Patch, 32, of Austin and Ty Patch, 29, of Wimberley, both announced the births of baby girls.

Jesse is also an up-and-coming artist, something his father loves to brag about. "His father wants him to be an artist instead of an actor," Susan Head said. "This has been something he's done since he was little. He would always draw from the feet up, and all the kids in his classes would watch him and draw from the feet up." His father is still in Seguin, and Jesse enjoys the trip home from Los Angeles to see him, his friends and acquaintances. "I was in Seguin not too long ago," he said.

"It was really weird. It was still my home. Everything was the same. My friends were still my friends. It was just like I never left." With all of the fame he has received and earned, Jesse Head said the best is yet to come.

"I would like to go and do movies," he said. "I don't want to stay a part of the sitcom scene. I don't want to stay typecast. I'd like to be known as other characters. People on stage say I would do good in movies." DOES YOUR AUTO INSURANCE NEED A TUNE-UP? Come in for a Farmers Friendly Review and find out if you're eligible for our discounts.
