Aug.ll. Henry Wehrleman, a broker of 68 Broad street, committed suicide In his office today. His residence was at 249 Carroll street, Brooklyn. He had a summer home at Locust, N. J.

His widow and four children survive. ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, Aug. 11. The summer home, near here of Henry Wehrleman, Is one of the finest; In this section. It is on Riverside drive, which skirts the Shrewsbury, and Is the highway from Seabright to Mlddletown.

The estate adolned the LaMarche place. Wehrleman's family received notice by telephone of the tragedy, and left here at 11 o'clock for New York. STRAUS ESIATE In his will filouVtor probate yester day Moses Straus, who died at his summer home in Deal on July 19 leaves practically his entire estate to his Immediate family, The three sons, Lewis, Isaac T. and Burnet W. Straus, are given Mr.

Straus' shares in the leather firm of M. Straus Sons. Mr, Straus leaves the residue of the estate in equal shares to his widow and two daughters, Mrs. Carrie Stern, wife of the late Charles K. Stern, and Mrs.

HOBBLE Sil Miss Ritzwailer Furnishes Ex citement at Deal Aquatic Meet. Miss Margaretta Rltzwoller came near furnishing an aquatic event not on the program at the Deal pool yesterday afternoon when she tripped on her hobble skirt at the edge of the tank and all but tumbled Donald Ilayne and Sidney Duffy, who were standing near, -seized Miss Ritzwoller just In the nick of time. Her handsome cos-tumo and fetching peach basket hat were thus saved. Miss Ritzwoller Is one of the prettiest of Manhattan's girls spending the summer at Hathaway Inn. Society was out In full force for the annual pool event.

There Was a band concert between the races. Tho sport was excellent. Goodwin, the New York A. C. swimming crack, participated In tho 880-yard swim and was an easy winner.

Painted on a muslin covered frame placed on a wagon which will travel the streets of the city today, this sign will give notice to the people In general that all those who have tho Interests of the city at heart should patronize the big aviation meet at Intjr-laken field. It will be an appeal to the loyalty of all good cltlens and all others interested In the progress of the Queen Resort. Seeing an aeroplane go sailing thru the air at a eonsldtrable height is only an iota of tho exhibition that takes plnce dally inside the canvas enclosure at the Interlaken -field. What, with the daring dips, the spectacle of the machines ascending and descending, the many marvelous stunts by tl) fearless aviators, the appearance of Wilbur Wright, the famous inventor of the aeroplane, the band concerts and the gala scene presented all about the field, the show is well worth the price of admission charged. The appeal Is timely and should be met with gen erous response.

AI A record fell by the way at tho Coleman House casino last night when "Ted" Raynolds of New York made a run of 5S at pool. Raynolds last winter won the amateur championship In a tourney at Doyle's. Raynolds' run last night, aside from Its spurting merit, Is of humorous Interest A youth entered the casino and confidently Informed "Billy" White he'd play anyone In the bouse. White called Raynolds, who said he was tired, but finally consented. The stranger led off and It was his last shot.

Cleveland Leader. mm bio AIIN ME 1 Al finmfnrtahlo Rnnm Pnftaoro and electric lights, The Homestead, baseball team, which had a reputation of not being scored against this season and which team won two straight contests from the Atlantic City team and put one over on the Ocean City boys, was given a setback yesterday afternoon at the Athletlo grounds when Manager Harvey's new aggregation defeated them In a 12-innlng game by a score of 2-1. It was without a doubt the best exhibition of baseball seen at the local grounds this season and there was a large crowd out to witness tho contost. The Homestead team came to this city with the expectation of continuing their winning streak, but the recent shake-up given the locals has greatly strengthened the team and Manager Harvey has obtained some excellent talent to withstand the schedule for the remainder of the season.

Ractilin, who was with tho Philadel phia Athletics early in the season and who was sent to the Tri-state league to be farmed out and was unsatisfied with his surroundings, is staying for the season in Long Branch, but Mr. Harvey has obtained him to play dur ing the rest of the schedule, He is a good pitcher and did excelleivt work In the box for the Asbury Parkers yes terday. The same teams will play at the Athletic grounds today. TO PLAY NUMBER Sousa day at Ocean Grove tomorrow Is expected to be one of the big events of the season at the auditorium. Sousa and his 65 men will arrive here tomorrow morning and they will have time for a dip in the surf before the afternoon concert. The afternoon concert will begin at 3 o'clock and will conclude about 5. A fine program will be rendered. It will be a splendid opportunity to hear Sousa and his band for 25 cunts.

Reserved Heats are 60 cents. In the evening Sousa will play two or three new marches of his own composition. The Children's Festival chorus of 800 voices will sing Sousa's famous "Stars and Stripes" with band accompaniment, and several other popular ongs. One of the numbers Saturday evening will be the Tannhauser overture, closing with the "Pilgrim's Chorus," by the band and the adultorium organ. This will be a feature of the program, and alone worth the admission.

Patriotic decorations will embellish th auditorium in honor of Sousa and his band. It will be a great night. Tho tickets for both afternoon and evening concerts are now on sale at the auditorium and boardwalk ticket offices. The night prices range from 11 to 35 cents. Everything Is In readiness for the stellar attraction of the Long Branch carnival, the children's parade, willed will take pluce on the ocean front this afternoon.

The procession is sched uled to move at the corner of Bath and Ocean avenues at 2 o'clock, but owing to the large number of entries over 1,000 having already been en rolled, It is now thought that the starting point may have to be changed to Brighton avenue. Weather conditions favoring, tuday's children carnival will be one of the biggest ever held along the Jersey coast. Entries have been received from Asbury Park, Atlantic Il'hlands, Red Bank, Freehold, New York, Mat- awan, Newark and otner points. The Sunday-school division alone will have 200 and possibly more in line. float dlvlsioiihas gotten so big and unwieldy that trouble In straightening tho line is expected.

It was said yesterday that there would tie 300 and possibly 400 floats. Yesterday morning at 11.30 o'clock, Alexander M. King of Wayside, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Daniels of High street, Long Branch, at the age of 83 years. Death was due to the infirmities of advancing age.

The interment will be made at West Long Branch cemetery, but complete arrangements for the funeral have not yet been made. The deceased was born at Wayside, and resided there his whole life. By occupation he was a farmer, and until five years ago, when he disposed of the old home he had successfully followed the plow. Since that time he had led a retired life, visiting friends and relatives. At the time of his death he was enjoying a visit at hi daughter's home.

He had been In poor health about two weeks. Mr. King is survived by five children. They are Mrs. Miranda White and Mrs.

The aero iTieet deserves the patriotic support of Asbury's population, both resident and visiting.

All danger from falling aeroplanes is now fully guarded against and the dally flights can supply only the most de lightful exhilaration and excite the wonder of the spectators. The Long Branch baby parade this afternoon supplies a double attraction for visitors on the coast. The Branch-I era have learned a few things from Asbury Tark, having copied features, I program and detail. As an act of complete absorption the Long Branch I baby parade Is a notable success, Be-( lng in most, particulars very like the Asbury Park pageant, the parade will no doubt be very beautiful and en-; trancing. We sincerely hope so and trust that Long Branch may study our ways and tfie character of our enter- talnments and go and do likewise some more.

It will be worth your while to visit the fcviatlon field today. From four to six will be exhibited the greatest flying ever undertaken since the discovery of aeronautics. STATE KEEPS WATCH ON INFANTILE PARALYSIS TRENTON, Aug. 11. A close watch is being kept on the five Camden eases of infantile paralysis by the state board of health.

Dr. Bruce S. Keator, of Asbury Park, secretary of the state board, said yesterday: Infant -paralysl, so-called, Is not yet included In the Infectious diseases, but the best physicians say, "Take care of the one so Infected and keep the child apart from others." It la wise to sequester euch a child for to the best of our knowledge, to the present nioment, there is likelihood of the disease being infectious. Down in Washington, D. where the National Medical society met this summer, there was a report from a committee authorized to get the infectious elements of this disease, and their report was that this disease, seemingly was carried along a street by the moisture on the street, and because of the filth, altho it' was noted that when the street was cleared by rains, that is, heavy rains, the outbreak of the epidemic receded.

Apparently the disease is carried by pome of these causes enumerated, but vve are not certain. While the physicians and Banltar-lani are not sure of this disease being infection, I would recommend to the people of New Jersey that good cltl-lenshlp requires a family with a little one afflicted with this unfortunate disease, to keep the child away from Others. A. M. of Newark came here on their annual excursion yesterday. A special train of 12 coaches was chartered by the order, and left the Central Railroad station on Broad street at 8.80 o'clock. The excursionists left Asbury Park at 6.00 o'clock last night on their return triD.
