By the formation of the club a long felt void has been filled, according to several of the young men. Every effort was made to induce members of the Webster Athletic club of the downtown section to combine with young men of the Eastend and by the co-operation of both organizations it was 'thought that the local colony would realize the construction of a handsome Italian gymnasium sooner than is expected.

The members of the downtown club will take definite action upon the proposition at their next meeting and there exists every indication that the action taken will be favorable to an amalgama- tion with common objects.
