Bether, Newark, police said, which collided with a car going north and driven by Francis J. Nish, Jersey City, Parked Car Struck BAY HEAD John B. Rhodes, Short Hills, was charged yesterday by local police with leaving the scene of an accident after car allegedly being driven by him struck one owned by Mrs. Oscar W. Dargee, New York, on Main Street.

Police said the Dargee car was parked when it was struck and that the driver of the other car, which was proceeding north on Main Street, did not stop. Police later located the Rhodes car in the parking lot of the Beacon Hotel. Five Hurt in Accidents POINT PLEASANT BEACH Five persons were injured, but none seriously here yesterday in two accidents, police reported. Injured in the Arst accident which Richmond Avenue at P.M. were: occurred, Miss Adrienne, Boutton, Hillside, and Josephine Jangar, New Brunswick.

They were passengers in cars driven by Miss Bouton's sister, Miss Mildred Boutton, also Hillside, and Miss Roseanne Pamburino, New Brunswick. The Button car was moving east on Avenue and Miss Pamburino was driving south on Richmond Avenue when the accident occurred. Both drivers received summonses for careless driving and were scheduled to appear before Magistrate Stanley J. 'Blair June 11, police said. The injured were treated at the Point Pleasant Hospital where they squad.

Miss Button received squad. Miss Burton received treatment for bruises on the forehead and left hip, and Miss Jangar, who was riding with the New Brunswick woman, was treated for concussion, abrasion of the right knee and" a fractured left index finger. The second accident occurred at Cincinnati and Forman Avenues when cars driven by Miss Mildred Point Kleinetz, Johnson Avenue, Pleasant, and Rowland Longstreet, 855 Arnold Avenue, Point Pleasant, collided. The injured are Robert Bradley, abrasion, and Miss Adelaide Wilson, Brooklyn, both passengers in Miss Kleinetz' car, and Miss Kleinetz. The two latter were both treated for bruises of the forehead.

All were taken to the Point Pleasant Hospital by the local first aid squad. Both drivers were given summonses for careless driving and ordered to appear before Magistrate Blair June 11. Car Forced Off Road RED BANK Thomas Powers, 21. of 160 Rumson Road, Little Silver, was treated at Hospital yesterday afternoon, and was released, after a car in which he was riding struck a pole at roy Place and Broad Street here, police reported. Vincent Citarella, 177 River Road, driver of the car, and other witnesses, said Citarella's car was forced off the road by another vehicle.

Citarella was given a summons for disorderly conduct by Patrolman Charles Jones for using abusive language to police. Held for Hit-Run Belmar police credited the apI prehension of Frank Scanniello, Newark, who is charged with hit and run, to the alertness of South Belmar Police Capt. Allen White. According to police, Captain White stopped Scanniello's car to investigate damages on the vehicle. In questioning the driver, he became suspicious and took him to police headquarters in Belmar.

Later Scanniello admitted, police said, that his struck 'and badly damaged two parked vehicles on Fifth Avenue between Ocean Avenue and A Street. His came before the hit and run alarm was broadcast by the county police radio station. Scanniello will be arraigned before Belmar Magistrate Stephen Maguire June 14. 2 Hurt at Toms River TOMS RIVER Three persons were injured early this morning when car seeking to turn from Route 37 into the Idle Whyle Cabins was struck by another car. Mabel Paseler, and her George Paseler, both of West New York, were admitted to Paul Kimball Hospital. They were passengers in a car being driven by Lubbertus H. J. Lok, Dumont, who was turning from the highway. Mrs.

Paseler was, admitted for observation treatment of shock. Her son, who had a cast on one leg prior to the accident, was released from the hospital after the cast, broken in the accident, was repaired. Alfred Allen, Trenton, passenger in the other car, being driven by John H. Mark. Trenton, was treated at the accident scene by the local first aid squad for a sprained knee.

Police charged Mark with careless driving and issued a summons to Lok for being involved in an accident. Summons Follows Crash HIGHTSTOWN-Noah McCloud, charged with careless driving and driving without a license, after an accident on the Tennent-Woodville Road yesterday afternoon, state police reported today. Clara Jane Robertson Mrs. Clara Jane Robertson, widow of George W. Robertson, died Wednesday afternoon at her summer residence, 410 Eighth Avenue. Born in Nova Scotia, Dec. 18, 1864, she was the daughter of the late Alexander Fulton and Elizabeth Muir Fulton.

Her father, a pioneer coal operator, moved with his family to Shamokin, 84 years ago. She lived in Shamokin. Robertson, coal operator and banker, died in June, a 1935. Mrs. Robertson had been a summer resident of Asbury Park since 1905.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Shamokin, and was an alumnus of Wilson College, Chambersburgh, Pa. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert Lowry, Shamokin and Miami Beach, and Mrs. Walter M. Farrow, Deal and Shamokin, and a granddaughter, Miss Malinda R.

Farrow, Deal. Private services at the family home in Shamokin on Monday will be in charge of the Mount Funeral Home, Red Bank. Mrs. Anna Hensler TOMS RIVER-Mrs. Anna Hensler, Laurel Avenue, Cranmoor Manor, widow of John Hensler, died Thursday at the Paul Kimball Hospital.

She was 84. Mrs. Hensler was born in Newark and moved to the local area in 1926. She was the first a resident of the Cranmoor Manor development. She is survived by three sons, Rudolph J.

Henseler, Herbert P. Hensler, and John A. Hensler, all of Toms River; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Arrangements will be announced by the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home. Mrs.

Tilly Goldman LAKEWOOD-Mrs. Tilly Goldman, 10 Fifth Street, wife of the late Louis I. Goldman, died early today at the Paul Kimbal Hospital. She was the daughter of Samuel W. and Faye Wexler Leebove, and Was born in Russia.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Nat Fields, Lakewood, and Mrs. Barron, Newark; brother, Henry Leebove, Bradley Beach; four sisters, Mrs. Max Leet, Bradley Beach; Mrs. Molly Dorman, Lakewood; Mrs.

Philip Haitler, Los and Joseph Brand, Pittsburgh. The Westhall Funeral Home will prepare the body for shipment to Pittsburgh. William Franklin Hulse William Franklin Hulse, 79, died Thursday at Evergreen Avenue, Neptune City. He was A farmer, born in West Farms, the son of John Henry and Jane Ann Boud Hulse. He was a member of the Glendola Junior Order of United American Mechanics.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Reimuller Hulse; two sons, Otto Hulse, Neptune, and Wilbur Hulse, Allenhurst; four daughters, Mrs. John Van Brunt and Mrs. Irvin Bennett, Neptune City; Mrs. Donald Pennoyer, Linden, and Mrs.

Michael Cornallon, San Diego, a sister, Mrs. Sadie McDaniel, Neptune City; 10 grandchildren and eightgrandchildren. The C. H. T.

Clayton and Son Funeral Home, Adelphia, has charge of arrangements. Richard Edgar A. de Bow Richard Edgar A. de Bow, 1306 Woodlock Avenue, Wanamassa, formerly of Bradley Beach, died in Fitkin Hospital Thursday afternoon after a short illness. He was born Philadelphia, son of the late Rev.

Dr. Robert S. and Anna Greenwood de Bow, and attended Germantown Academy and the University of Pennsylvania. He was employed as an engineer by Evans Signal Laboratories. He is survived by his wife, Mrs.

Alice Griffiths de Bow; daughter, Mrs. Jeanne de Bow Brugger, Wayne two grandchildren; two sisters, de Bow Thompson, Washington, and Mrs. Emma de Bow Creadick, New Heaven, and a brother, Robert G. de Bow, San Diego, Calif. The Farry Memorial Home has charge of arrangements.

Bennington H. Hankins LONG BRANCH -Bennington H. Hankins, 85, died Thursday at his home, 1083 Norwood Avenue. He was a retired electrical contractor. Born in New York, he was the son of the late Charles and Jennie Hankins.

An exempt fireman, he was a member of Elberon Engine Company and a member of Norwood Council, Jr. OUAM and a member of Simpson Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Dora Hankins, and a son, Arthur W. Hankins, Wanamassa. The Woolley Funeral Home, Long Branch, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Julian Thomas Mrs. Adeline Frances Thomas, 73, died yesterday at her home, 313 Springdale Avenue, Neptune, after a short illness. She was born in Neptune, daughter of the late Isaac and Jenny Richardson. She was a lifelong resident of Neptune and one of the oldest members of St.

Augustine's Protestant Episcopal Church. She is survived by her husband, Julian; a son, Allen: a daughter, Mrs. Madeline Phillips, all of Neptune; three brothers, Jonathon and Robert Richardson, Neptune, and Isaac Richardson, Asbury Park; a sister, Mrs. Edith Gardiner, Neptune, and six grandchildren. Benson RUMSON-Mrs. Elizabeth Benson, 41, wife of Oscar N. Benson, 33 Ward Avenue, died early last night at Monmouth. Memorial Hospital, Mrs. Benson had been ill for several months and entered the hospital seven hours before her death.

She was born in Elizabeth, the daughter of Michael and Ann Plancy Safik, and had lived in this vicinity for a number of years. She was an active communicant of the Holy Cross R.C. Church of Rumson. Besides her parents, who live at 455 River Street, Long Branch, and her husband, she is survived by two sons, Michael C. and Robert O.

Woman, Grandchild Hurt A Brooklyn woman and her grandchild were injured Thursday afternoon in a two-car crash at Atkins Seventh Avenues, Neptune. Neptune police said that cars driven by T. L.

Smith, New York, and Louis Robinson, Brooklyn, were considerably damaged in the crash. Mrs. Minnie Robinson, riding with her husband, and their granddaughter, Ethel Horowitz, 4, suffered head injuries and shock. Both were treated by the Neptune First Aid Squad, but refused further medical treatment. The Smith car was moving north on Atkins Avenue, when it collided with Robinson car, moving east on Seventh Avenue.

Henry Ruckstuhl, 42, of East Orange, the driver of the vehicle, sustained a fractured rib was admitted along with Kenneth Wolfe, also East Orange, who the face. in received multiple, lacerations. of "fair" condition this morning. Van Damages Pole NEW SHREWSBURY-A horse van tractor-trailer struck and damaged a pole at Tinton Avenue and Lincroft Road here yesterday, state police at Shrewsbury reported. No one was injured, and there were no horses in the truck, police said, but an unidentified motorist was forced to drive into a large hedge to avoid being struck by the large vehicle. Police said the truck, driven Robert Walter Murphy, Miami, Springs, was going east on Freehold Road and was passing a car when it skidded on the curve at the intersection.
