Wednesday in Metea Baptist Church. He died at 1:16 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in Logansport Memorial Hospital. Born June 6, 1923, in Bethlehem Township, Cass.

County, he was the son of George F. and Lovie Ann Fiedler Van Meter. A lifelong resident of the Metea community, Mr. Van Meter was a semi-retired farmer. He was a member of Metea Baptist Church, and a 1941 graduate of Metea High School.

Surviving are two brothers, George W. Van Meter, Lucerne, and Donald W. Van Meter, Woodstock, one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Louis Zimmer, Royal Center; and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Daniel Van Meter and Walter Van Meter, and two sisters, Martha Studebaker and Mildred Rans, preceded in death. Dr.

Bryan Clemens will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery at Lease's Corner. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Zimmerman Family Funeral Home, and one hour before the services on Wednesday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Metea Baptist Church.

Catherine Borden PERU Services for Catherine Borden, 98, of Route 5, Peru, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel. She died at 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at her residence.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru. There will be no visitation. Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home is in charge of Betty Jane Roe WINAMAC Services for Betty Jane Roe, 75, of 920 S. Monticello will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Frain Mortuary.

She died at 3:19 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, in SCCI Hospital, Kokomo. The Rev. David Lallathin and Vince Button will officiate at the services.

Paul Lind FLORA Services for Paul Lind, 70, of 1132 S. Ohio Kokomo, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Reinke Funeral Home. He died at 10:47 a.m. Saturday, Feb.

27, 1999, in Saint Joseph Hospital Health Center, Kokomo. Born Nov. 12, 1928, in Cass County, he was the son of Frank and Florence Weiand Lind. On March 31,1979, he was married to Anna Louda, who survives. Mr.

Lind was a retired farmer and truck driver. He taught at Ivy Tech State College in Kokomo. He was a member of Kokomo Salvation Army, and was a graduate of Royal Center High School. Also surviving are five sons and their spouses, Daniel Green, Kokomo, Jerry Wolfe, Peru, Ron and Kathy Lind, Lafayette, Paul Richard and Tina Lind, Circleville, Ohio, and Denver and Linda Green, Tippecanoe; three daughters and their spouses, Julie and Jeff Spencer, Nyona Lake, Kathy Moore, Flora, and Joyce and Harry Gibbs, Logansport; one brother and spouse, Fred and Brenda Lind, Greenwood; four sisters and spouses, Phyllis and Harold Gray, Royal Center, Marjorie Cook, Topeka, Eva Deeb, Bellview, and Judy and Ron Phillips, Shoreview, 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Two grandchildren preceded in death.

Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, in St. Vincent Hospital, Carmel. Born Aug. 22, 1917 in White County, he was the son of Harrison and Nettie Andrews Smith.

He was married April 5, 1941, in the home of his parents in Idaville to Audrey L. Marquess, who survives. He was a retired technical sales representative for Reliance Universal, Louisville, Ky. A resident of the Monticello area most of his life, he had been in failing health in months. He was a member of Monticello Christian Church and served on several.

Carroll E. Wilfong Services for Carroll E. Wilfong, 67, of 916 Stanley will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in McCloskey-Hamillon-Gundrum Funeral Home. Mr.

Wilfong died at 12:54 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in the emergency room of St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born June 10, 1931, in Leipsic, he was the son of Grover C.

and Bessie Hayes Wilfong. On Feb. 7, 1954, in Logansport, he was married to M. Rude, who survives: Willong was a veteran of the U.S: He was a life member: of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790. He was a 1950 graduate of Campbellsburg High School.

Mr. Willong was a coach operator for Summitt Bus Company of Fort Wayne. He was a former coach operator for Indiana Motor Bus Company and a former owner and operator of Bus Plus of Logansport. He also was a former. brakeman for Penn Central Railroad.

Also surviving are one son, Corbin E. Wilfong and his wife, Janice, Logansport; one daughter, Lorraine A. Goforth and her husband, Ronald, Logansport; three brothers, Ernest Wilfong, Castro Valley, Albert Willong, Royal Oak, and Dale Wilfong, Logansport; and three grandchildren, Carlos E. Wilfong, Joshua A. Goforth and Ashley Nicole Wilfong.

Five brothers and three sisters preceded in death. Ralph Garver and Ray Morgan will officiate at the services. Burial, with military graveside rites, will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Joseph O. Collins KEWANNA Services for Joseph 0. Collins, 69, of Kewanna, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel. Mr.

Collins died at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, in Hines Veterans Administration Hospital, Hines, Ill. Born June 8, 1929, in Fulton County, he was the son of Clyde S. and Clara H.

Olsen Collins. On June 18, 195, in Kewanna, he was married to Loma Lou Warfield, who survives. Mr. Collins was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, having served during the Korean conflict.

He retired from the Marines due to a service connected disability. He was a life member of the James F. Talbott Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1121, the Disabled Veterans of America and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cherry Point, N.C. Also surviving are two sons and daughtersin-law, Gregory J.

and Judy Collins and Doran L. and Martie Collins, all of Kewanna; one brother, James Collins, Navarre, three grandsons and their wives, Justin and Nicki Collins, Twelve Mile, Brandon and Tracey Collins, Lafayette, and Troy Collins and one granddaughter and her husband, Dana Jo and Ron Smith Lafayette. One brother and two sisters preceded in death. The Rev. Todd Wilson will officiate at the services.

Marie I. Lebo Services for Marie I. Lebo, 90, formerly 730 22nd will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in McCloskey-Hamilton-Gundrum Funeral Home. Mrs.

Lebo died at 5:13 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in Logansport Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 1, 1908, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of William and Ida Workens Enyeart.

On March 18, 1936, in Kokomo, she was married to Francis L. Lebo, who died Sept. 25, 1970. Mr. Lebo was retired from the General Telephone Company.

Surviving are one son, Jerry Lebo and his wife, Helen, Logansport; one daughter, Mary Jane Oswald a and her husband, Larry, Houston; two grandchildren, Jennifer Oswald and Brent Lebo; and two great-grandchildren. One son, one daughter and three sisters preceded in death. The Rev. Donald L. Ruhl will officiate at the services.

Kasch, 79, -of Logansport, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in, Kroger Funeral Mrs. Kasch died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in SCCI Hospital, Kokomo.

Born Oct. 27, 1919, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Frank and Goldie Haynes Sauers. On April 4, 1939, in Logansport, she was married to Joseph C. Kasch, who survives. Mrs.

Kasch enjoyed her grandchildren and her home. Also surviving are two sons and daughtersin-law, Joseph L. and Ruth Kasch, and James L. and Sandy Kasch, all of Logansport; one daughter, Sharon Sue Ansel, Logansport; one sister, Frances Smith, Logansport; six grandchildren; seven -grandchildren; three stepgreatgrandchildren; three nephews; and one niece. One brother, Charles "Red" Sauers, and one grandson, Don Kasch, preceded in death.
