Aldrich M. Brooks a dentist, died Sunday (Nov. 28, 1993) at St. Mary's Health Center in Richmond Heights after a brief illness. He was 90.

Dr. Brooks, of St. Louis, was in private practice for more than 50 years here and in East St. Louis. He retired in 1984.

In the late 1930s, he volunteered his services at the old Homer G. Phillips Dental Clinic. He was later appointed head of the dentistry department there. He was born in Crawfordsville, Ark. He earned his degree in dentistry in 1932 from Howard University School of Dentistry.

(AP) David Houston, the Grand Ole Opry star who won a Grammy for the country music classic "Almost Persuaded," died Tuesday (Nov. 30, 1993) at the age of 57. Mr.

Houston suffered a ruptured brain aneurism Thanksgiving Day and never regained consciousness, said Paul Hockett, a spokesman for Bossier Medical Center in Bossier City, where Mr. Houston died. "Almost Persuaded," a million-seller hit in 1966, chronicled a honky-tonk flirtation in which a married man considered cheating on his wife. He was one of the most successful country singers in the mid-1960s and had performed at the Grand Ole Opry since 1972. Omar L.

Schnatmeier, 85; Former Sheriff Danford E. Smith; McDonnell Manager Danford E. Smith, a retired manager at McDonnell Douglas died Monday (Nov. 29, 1993) at Oak Forest Nursing Home in Ellisville from complications of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. He was 64.

Mr. Smith, of Bridgeton, joined McDonnell Douglas in 1955. He retired in 1987 as a manager of interni-tional offset programs fti procurement. 77 He was born in southern West Virginia. He attended Washington University and the University of Missouri at St.

Louis. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Gerber Chapel, 23 West Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves. His body was cremated. Among the survivors are his wife, Rosemary Smith; three sons, Craig Alan Smith of Bridgeton, Dwane Kent Smith of Kearny, and Shawn Devin Smith of St.

Peters," a sister, Charlene Cardea of Huntington, W.Va.; and a brother, Billie Joe Smith of Kenova, W.Va. neral Home, 4828 Natural Bridge Avenue, with a special Rosary service at 5 p.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Dr. Brooks was married for 52 years to Hortense Garrett Brooks; she died in 1990.

Among the survivors are a son, Dr. Aldrich M. Brooks Jr. of Southfield, a daughter, Saundra Wallace of St. Louis; a sister, Portia Carter of Nashville, two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in care of Baue Funeral Home, 620 Jefferson Street, St. Charles, Mo. 63301. Omar Louis Schnatmeier, a retired administrator at McDonnell Douglas Corp. and a former sheriff, state representative and newspaperman in St.

Charles County, died Monday (Nov. 29, 1993) at a hospital in Amarillo, Texas, after a brief illness. He was 85. Mr. Schnatmeier, formerly of St.

Charles, was a personnel administrator at McDonnell Douglas Corp. for many years before he retired in 1972. He moved to Canyon, Texas, in the early 1980s. He was co-owner and editor of the old Daily Cosmos-Monitor newspaper in St. Charles from the late 1940s until the paper closed in the early 1950s.

In the 1940s, he was sheriff of St. Charles County. He also served as U.S. marshal and a Missouri state Among the survivors are his wife of 65 years, Agnes Letourneau of Sarasota; four daughters, Mimi L. Meier and Julie Bayer, both of St.

Louis, Suzie Gruber of Tampa, and Eugenie Cooper of Des Moines, Iowa; a son, Dr. Thomas G. Letourneau of Rochester, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren; and eight joined the company in 1937 as an accountant. He was born in Aurora, Kan. He graduated in 1932 from St.

Louis University. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon Friday at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 833 Magellan Drive in Sarasota. His body was cremated. Albert L. Letourneau, a retired executive, died Monday (Nov.

29, 1993) at a hospital in Bradenton, after suffering a heart attack. He was 83. Mr. Letourneau, of Sarasota, was vice president and comptroller at American Investment Co. in St.
