Page 9 Garden Cit.v Monday, October 26. 1970 HERE AND AREA Education Meeting Scheduled of Rat Experiment Called Misleading by Wheat Man DODGE CITY A recent re- The Kansas Slate Board Education will sponsor meetings at Hugoton, Garden City, and Dodge City this week to discuss rules and regulations governing the operation of education programs in Kansas with local district administrators and board members. Basic purposes of the meetings are: To establish contacts with local boards of education and school administrators; to determine what local officials believe to be the relationship of the local boards and the presently constituted state board, and to develop a procedure that will include the local school officials in future development of rules, and regulations prior to adoption. Han-old Crist of Scott City, District 5 board member, will chair the meetings and C. Taylor Whittier, Commissioner of will make a presentation following a 6:30 dinner.

State Department of Education staff will serve as chairmen for six small group discussion sessions at each conference to allow for a broader exchange of ideas. Hugoton Unified School District 210 will host the Oct. 27 meeting at the Elementary' School.
