Parents should bring their child's birth certificate, immunization record and verification of all household income when they go to apply. Head Start is a federal program for preschool children ages three to five from lowincome families.

The program also serves children with disabilities. These children do not have to meet income guidelines. Children participate in education activities, and receive medical and dental screenings, and get nutritious meals and snacks. Applications are available at the Head Start Center, 1023 W.
