Writer The Kentucky Airport Zoning Commission will hold a hearing later this month to rule on a Jamestown application to build a television antenna tower in Mercer County The proposed 1099 foot tower would transmit the signal from WDKY TV an independent 660000 watt television station that Jamestown attorney Robert Bertram plans to build in Dan ville The studio would be in Danville but the tower would be near High Bridge 72 miles east of the Harrodsburg Mercer County Airport 13 miles north of Goodall ield Airport near Danville and 14 miles south of Blue Grass ield Bertram originally planned to build the tower in Boyle County but changed the location so the station serve a larger geographical he said this week The station will broadcast in a 50 mile radius and be carried on local cable television services Bertram said WDKY will be known as Channel 56 and will carry oriented pro he added A site for the studio been found said Bertram At the airport zoning commis sion hearing officials will decide whether the tower have any effect on navigable in the area said Mark Roberts a spokesman for the state Transpor tation Cabinet who is handling in formation requests for the airport zoning commission At issue is whether the proposed tower would interfere with the safety and navigation of airplanes Bertram who began lookihg for a tower site in Jahuary when the ederal Communications Commission approved the sta license says the tower would not interfere with aviation In a telephone conversation from his Jamestown office Bertram cited a ruling in March by the ederal Aviation
