What words can be used to fully tell you the impact this production has had on our community.

Louis Bittrich directed this stage play using raw talent for the most port from the Seguin area and turned it into a fantastic production. Oliver TwUt, a novel filled with pathos, violence and murder seems a very unlikely candidate for a musical, but Lionel Bart worked his theater magic on it and the results have thrilled playgoers all over the world. He strung humor into the story and brought reality to the stage. This first theatrical production to be presented in our new Coliseum and we trust not the last. Tripp Rogers, a 7th grader, was terrific as Oliver.

David Zelinka was great as the Artful Dodger. Over fifty talented people were in the cast and many, many more worked behind the scenes and all the other tasks that are necessary to produce a play of Uiis magnitude. Far too many for us to mention, but we did do a little snooping behind the scenes and found Liz House in charge of all those hyperactive orphans in between scenes. Gabrielle Nelson and Tuta Brawner were painting wrinkles and dirt on faces. Carla Blumberg was atop tall ladders in control of lights, etc.

Jerry Weers and his crew did a perfectly beautiful job on the sets. We were amazed at the precision of movements in getting Da- props on and off the stage in a matter of split seconds! One lady was overheard to comment that she had seen the show uf Oliver! and that tHis production topped it! Mark Brown who played the part of Mr. Bumble enjoyed a visit with his little brother Matt Brown from Calif, who worked to earn the money to fly to Texas so he could be a port of the production. Matt worked the spotlights. Mark and Matt left Wednesday for their home in Calif.

Mrs. Elba Bittrich, mother of Dr. Louis Bittrich, flew in from Calif, to view Die production of Oliver! that her talented son Louis directed. She enjoyed every minute of it. Defuse James who played the part of a barmaid had her own cheering section for the play.

Her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Arlie F. James and her sister Patricia James all of Kerrville and her sister and her husband. Mr.

and Mrs. Gary Titnmer- mann and their daughter Shannon from Beaumont, her aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs Norman Hilburn, and her parents Mr. and Mrs. Arlie James.

Everyone agreed that this was indeed a wonderful production full of action and beautiful music. Stan (Chip) Morris of nephew of Bobbie Zelinka was in town to see his aunt perform in Chip recently completed a tour of Hawaii and Alaska in the entertainment field of music. He left the group and is currently working on his first novel which he hopes to complete by Dec. Bobbie said that everyone in her family came to see Oliver! and they ended up having an unplanned wonderful family reunion. Her father Dr.

Charles E. Roberts and her brother Chuck Roberts of Waxahachie and her sister Jodie and sons Chip and Hamilton, also her sister Carol and husband Charles all came for the play and they had a really great time together. Corky Halt and her children Scott and Hollye all took part in the play and this caused another family reunion as her brother Buzz Hudiburg, Austin, sister Jackie and husband Dick Davis and children and sister Sherri and husband Allen and children all came from out of town to see the play. Happy Birthday to Carolyn May you have many many more happy birthdays. Carolyn.
