John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Fletcher, Edwin 73, Wall Bank OCEAN JOHN CAPRAL, 79, of SEASIDE HEIGHTS, died Sunday at home. He was a mechanic for Rockland Coaches, Westwood, for 45 years, retiring in 1985. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a staff sergeant and crew chief. Born in Spring Valley, N.Y., he lived in Paramus and Toms River before moving to Seaside Heights in 1962.

Surviving are his wife, Jardean Frentz Capral; and a daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Bob Mandatto of Absecon. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Toms River. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be private in Brick Church Cemetery, Pomona, N.Y. ROBERT C. DEVROUS. 54, of Pine Lake Park, MANCHESTER, died Sunday at home. He was an exterminator for Cavanaugh's Freehold, for 25 years.

Born in North Bergen, he lived in Jackson before moving to Manchester in 1972. He was predeceased by two brothers, George and Richard. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Iris Valencia Devrous; a son, Scott Devrous of Manchester; and a brother, Wayne Devrous of Stuart, Fla. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Wednesday at D'Elia Funeral Home, Route 70 and Vermont Avenue, Lakewood. A Mass will be offered 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Lakehurst. Interment will follow in St.

Mary's Cemetery, Lakewood. JOHN J. DREW, 66, of POINT PLEASANT, died Saturday at Brick Hospital. He was an inspector and factory worker for Westin in Newark, retiring many years ago. He served in the Navy from 1951 to 1952.

He was born in Irvington. There are no survivors. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catharine's Cemetery, Sea Girt.

Interment will follow at the cemetery. Van Hise Callagan Leber Funeral Home, Point Pleasant Beach, is in charge of arrangements. DAVID DURRIE. 88, of BRICK, died Sunday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was a utility worker for Farmland Dairies, Fairlawn, for 30 years, retiring in 1975.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a corporal, and was wounded in Normandy. He was a volunteer with Hawthorne Fire Company 4. He was past president of the Brick Fireman's Exempt Association and a life member of the New Jersey State Firemen's Association. He was a member of St. Mary By The Sea Episcopal Church in Point Pleasant Beach.

Born in Hawthorne, he lived in Whiting, before moving to Brick in 1997. His wife, Sadie, died in 1965. Surviving are a daughter, Deanna Cronin of North Jersey; two grandchildren, Bill Cronin and Sue Roman; a niece, Doris Braen of Brick; a grandniece, Ronda Pawlowicz; two grandnephews, Ronald and Ricky Braen; two great grandnephews; and two great grandnieces. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Wednesday at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route 88, Brick. Funeral services will be offered 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral Barrel, Readington Township, where he would entertain in the dining room. They retired in 1972. He attended the Juilliard School of Music, where he studied classical violin, in 1933.

He was a member of the Guild of Essex County, Local 16 AFM. He played in a string trio with two other Ocean County residents. Born in Newark, he lived in Union and Whitehouse before moving to Forked River in 1972. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Hazel M. van Houten Heuer; two daughters, Janyce C.

Paulsen of Beachwood and Susan J. Parsons of Santa Fe, N.M.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 Route 9 Forked River. Funeral services will be 2 p.m.

Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be private. MARY L. LEONARD, 86. of Holiday City at Berkeley, BERKELEY, died Feb.

6 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was a bookkeeper for Canadien Furs Newark, for 20 years. She lived in Ridgewood, Queens, before moving to Holiday City at Berkeley. Her husband, Joseph Leonard, died in 1980. Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 11:15 a.m. Wednesday in Linden Hill Methodist Cemetery, Queens. Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Toms River, is in charge of arrangements. BERNICE C. CRUDUP LEONE, 81, of Silverton, DOVER TOWN- SHIP, died Sunday at Community Medical Center, Toms River.

She was an executive secretary with Lord Taylor, New York, for many years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Modern Muses, Toms River, and an avid bridge player. She was a 1936 graduate of Ridgewood High School and a grauate of Ridgewood Secretarial School. Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Ridgewood before moving to Toms River in 1967. Surviving are her husband, Esterino B.

Leone; two daughters, Diane Buzzard of Toms River and Madelyn Buzzard Mees of Louisville, two grandchildren, Cheryl Leone and Deborah Challoner; and a greatgrandchild, Duncan Chesley Challoner. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 809 Central Seaside Park. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m.

She was a senior clerk in the Essex County Welfare Department for 25 years, retiring in 1987. She was a communicant of St. Pius Roman Catholic Church, Forked River. Born in Union City, she lived in Belleville before moving to Forked River in 1987. She was a summer resident of Forked River since 1952.

Surviving are her husband, David B. Martin a daughter, Dolores J. Sweeney of Pequannock; three sisters, Marie Fredlund of Caldwell, Dolores Boardingham of Forked River, Eleanor Nye of Toms River: and three grandchildren, James, Karen and Tara, all of Pequannock. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

JOSEPH A. MIKULICZ. 83, of TOMS RIVER, died Sunday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Surviving are his wife, Janet Belakowski Mikulicz; a son, Joel Mikulicz of Reddington Shores, two daughters, Judy Brownlie of Houston, and Janice DiGiovanni of Kalamazoo, and six grandchildren. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m.

Wednesday at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River. A funeral Mass will be offered 9:45 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River. Cremation will be private.

CAROLINE "GRANDMA" LILLIAN PEER. 89, of Mayetta, STAFFORD, died Sunday at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Stafford. She was a homemaker. She was a co-founder in 1952 and charter member of Cedar Run Assembly of God Church, and a member of the Happy Lookers Club, Barnegat. Born in Augusta Springs, she lived in Manahawkin, Stafford, before moving to Mayetta 43 years ago.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Erskine, Edgar, and Stanley Fridley. Surviving are two sons, Lester Peer Jr. of Tuckerton, and Joseph Peer Sr. of West Creek, Eagleswood; two daughters, Caroline Grant of Mayetta, and Elizabeth Inman of Forked River, Lacey; a brother, Eugene Shaeffer of New Providence; 22 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 15 greatgreat Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Run Assembly of God Church, Route 9 South, Cedar Run, with a service at 8 p.m.

PRIGGE, 89, of BARNEGAT, died Sunday at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Stafford. She was a seamstress for Sadie's, Elizabeth. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Linden before moving to Barnegat in 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Evelyn Nagy of Lakehurst, and Elaine Frost of Florida; two sisters, Helen of Boulder, and Grace of Linden; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

Wednesday at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Lakehurst. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. BRICK, died Brick Hospital.

He was an engineer with the U.S. Government at the New York Naval Ship Yard, Brooklyn, for 31 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, Brick, a former member of the Power Squadron, and a volunteer at Point Pleasant Hospital for 25. years.

Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Flushing, N.Y., before moving to Brick 26 years ago. His wife, Ona Creighton Saraniero, died this month. Surviving are a 'son, Emil L. of Brooklyn; a daughter, Marie Sauenbrun of Lindenhurst, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Marie Saraniero of Babylon, N.Y.; a brother, Henry Saraniero of Leesburg, 11 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren: and four step children. A funeral Mass will be offered 10 a.m.

SARANIERO, 91, of Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was a homemaker, a member of the Jackson Seniors, and a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson. Born in Madawasa, Maine, she lived in Avenel, Woodbridge, before moving to Jackson in 1978. Her husband, Romeo M.

Sirois, died in 1990. Surviving are a son, Charles of Avenel; two daughters, Jeannine Sunshine of Granger, and Judy Siegel of Jackson; four brothers, Hector and Roger Gendreau, both of Madawasa, Maine, Ernest Gendreau of St. David, Maine, and Clifford Gendreau of Grand Isle, Maine; six sisters, Jeanne Markis of Van Buren, Maine, Bernice Diagle of Portsmouth, N.H., Marie Mae Ovellette of Endfield, and Olivia DeJardin and Claudette Maror, both of Madawasa, Maine; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Honey Locust Street, Lakewood. EDWINA GENDREAU SIROIS, 87, of JACKSON, died yesterday at THE REV. JOHN J. SOETER, 95, of LAKEWOOD, died Sunday at Har- rogate Health Center, Lakewood.

At the time of his retirement in 1969 from the pulpit of Old Bergen Reformed Church, Jersey City, he was the 13th pastor of the 305-year-old church, the oldest church west of the Hudson River. In addition, he served as minister of Second Reformed Church, New Brunswick, from 1945 to 1957, the First Reformed Church, Hackensack, from 1935 to 1945, and Teaneck Community Reformed Church, from 1930 to 1935. He served on the board of Middlesex General Hospital, and was president of the Council of Churches. He was appointed twice to the board of superintendents of New Brunswick Theological Seminary, from 1946 to 1947, and from 1962 to 1969. He was president of the Synod of New Jersey from 1945 to 1947.

MARGARET P. EADES, 61, of Silver Ridge Park, BERKELEY, died Sunday at home. She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church, Toms River. Born in Cloone, County Leitrim, Ireland, she came to the United States in 1956, living in Upper Manhattan, Dumont, Beachwood and Holiday City at Berkeley before moving to Silver Ridge Park North in 1999.

Her husband, James Robert Eades, died in 1990. Surviving are three daughters, Evelyn Letourneau of Miami, and Eileen P. Ugaro and Carol Simmons, both of Beachwood; seven brothers, Christopher and Kevin Reynolds, both of Ireland, Sean and Thomas Reynolds, both of London, England, Francis Reynolds of Tenafly, James Reynolds of Bethlehem, and Patrick Reynolds of Yonkers, N.Y.; three sisters, Maisie Treanor of Bayville, Berkeley, Nellie Roche of Franklin Lakes, and Claire Cox of Rivervale; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Deidre Simmons both of Beachwood, Brianne Ugaro of Beachwood, and Nicole and Bobby Letourneau Jr. of Miami. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m.

ANNA EDWARDS, 92, of BRICK, died yesterday at Meridian Nursing Home, Brick. She was an operator with New Jersey Bell Telephone in Union, Ocean and Monmouth counties for. 46 years, retiring many years ago. She was a member of St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant, and the Altar Rosary Society of the church.

She was a member of the Lady Guard of Point Pleasant, the American Association of Retired Persons; and the Senior Beehive. Born in Newark, she lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Brick 15 years ago. Her husband, Eric, died in 1972. Surviving are a cousin, Agnes Stern of Brick; a niece, Mary Vella of Brick; and two grandnieces. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m.

Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. HAROLD F. HEUER, 86, of Forked River, LACEY, died Saturday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was a professional musician, performing as Hal Hyer. He played with some of the top bands of the Big Band Era, including Carmen Cavallaro, Horace Heidt and Leo Reisman.

He played the violin and saxophone in such well known night spots as El Morocco, Latin Quarter and Hotel Ambassador, all in New York, and the Chanticler, Meadowbrook and The Manor, all in New Jersey. He also played for such famous comedians as Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, Imogene Coca, and Henny Youngman, who sometimes borrowed his violin for his act. Starting in 1954, he and his wife owned and operated Fiddler's Inn, formerly known as the Cracker ate of New Brunswick Theological Seminary and was awarded an honorary doctor of divinity from Hope College in 1960. Born in Amsterdam, Holland, he lived in Brick for 20 years before moving to Lakewood 11 years ago. His wife of 66 years, Esther Fitz Randolph Soeter, died in 1997.

Surviving are a son, Dr. John R. DePere of Wisconsin; two daughters, Janet Veldman of Austin, Texas, and Ruth Church of Normandy Beach, Dover Township; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church in Brielle.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Church in Brielle Memorial Fund, P.O Box 25, Brielle, NJ 08730. D'Elia Funeral Home, Lakewood, is in charge of arrangements. MONMOUTH VINCENT F. APPLEGATE, 80, of BRADLEY BEACH, died Sunday in Neptune.

He was an iron worker at Park Steel and Iron Neptune City, for 38 years, retiring several years ago. He attended the Church of the Ascension, Bradley Beach, and was a member of the Bradley Beach Fire Department since 1952, serving as chief in 1968. He was president of the Bradley Independent Fire Company for many years, and had also served as treasurer of the Exempt Fireman's Association and the Bradley Beach Fire Department Relief Association. He was founder and chairman of the annual fund drive for the Bradley Beach Fire Department. Born in Bradley Beach, he was a lifelong resident there.

His wife, Margaret M. Truax Applegate, died in 1998. Surviving are two daughters, Karen Barchman of Las Vegas, and Linda S. Pellegrino of Brick; two sisters, Mary E. Applegate of Bradley Beach, and Catherine Hurley of Brick; and four grandchildren, Jennifer, Cara, Nicole and Daniel.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at O'Brien Funeral Home, Route 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In- terment will follow in Hamilton Cemetery, Neptune. MORGAN MARTIN DAVIS, 73. of WALL, and Boca Raton, died Saturday at his home in Florida. He was an architect with DCS Architecture in Lakewood and co-owner of Quickie Prints in Ocean and Monmouth counties. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Temple Beth Am in Lakewood, a member of Lakewood Masonic Lodge and a director with First State Bank.

His first wife, Bette Ader Davis, died in 1984. Surviving are his wife Shirley Greenberg Davis; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Al Mauver of Coinjock, N.C.; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Lynn and Glenn Hirsch of Roswell, Laurie and Jim Baety of Huntersville, N.C., and Beth and Brad Besner of Plantation, a former son-in-law, Bob Fuhrmann; a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur L. and Lenore Davis of Fort Lee; two grandchildren, Michael and Laurie Fuhrmann; and eight stepgrandchildren. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. today at Temple Beth Am, 400 Carey Lakewood.

69, of SEA GIRT, died Sunday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. She was an assistant manager at Rite Aid, Sea Girt. She was former member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Manasquan. Born in Trenton, she lived in Sea Girt most of her life. Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, F.

William and Gail of Herbertsville, Brick, Richard and Debbie of Wall, and Francis of Sea Girt; a daughter, Linda Hasbrouck of Belmar; and seven grandchildren, Melissa Sue and her husband Steve, Donna, William, Shaun, Mark, Matthew and John. Visiting hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at O'Brien Funeral Home, Route 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow. ROBERT D. WAGNER 44, of HOWELL died yesterday at home. He was supervisor for the Monmouth County Shade Tree Commission, Freehold, where 1 he worked for 25 years. He was a communicant of St.

Veronica's Roman Catholic Church, Howell, and a member of the Turkey Swamp Gun Club, Freehold. He was a former player and coach of the Howell Men's Slow Pitch Softball League. He was a USSSA umpire and a former active member and a social member of Adelphia Fire Company. Born in Neptune, he was a lifelong resident of the area. His father, James A.

Wagner died in 1998. Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Hayes Wagner; a son and his girlfriend, Robert D. Wagner J. and Anita Smither of Holly Hill, a daughter, Ashley Wagner, and a stepdaughter, Amy Polumbo, both at home; his mother, Charlotte Wagner of Howell; three brothers, James A. Wagner Jr.

of Manchester, Thomas R. Wagner of Browns Mills, and David W. Wagner of Farmingdale; and a sister, Susan L. Wagner of Howell. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

JOAN M. WESSELS. 70, of HOWELL, died yesterday at home. She was a proofing clerk for United County Trust Cranford, for 10 years. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Cranford.

Born in Hillside, she lived in Cranford for 39 years before moving to Howell 11 years ago. She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Jean Wessels. Surviving are her husband, Harry; Harry Wessels III of Morrill, Maine; a daughter, Jacqueline Clawson of North Brook, a sister, Florence Kowalsky of Jackson; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday at D'Elia Funeral Home, Route 70 and Vermont Avenue, Lakewood. Funeral services will be held 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 1035 Hooper Toms River.
