READING PROGRAM-PARENTS' NIGHT The developmental reading program of the Floyd Valley School District will hold its second parents' night meeting on this April 16, at the Alton St. Mary's School commencing at 8:00 P.M. Mr. Spradling, school psychologist, will be the featured speaker for the evening.

Come with questions either for the school psychologist or for the developmental reading teachers. A light lunch will be served at the conclusion of the meeting. Pete Van Kalsbeek, Mrs. John Vande Weerd. Shirleen was honored at a miscellaneous bridal shower on Friday, April llth at the home of Hattie Vande Weerd hosted by aunts of the bride- to-be. Harriet Kooiker of Boyden, Tracia Morren of Beresford S. Annetta Lammers of Alton and Alys Vande Weerd.

LUCKY CHARMS 4-H NEWS The April 12. 1975 meeting was called to order at 2 p.m. by our president, Denise Blankers. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Arlyce Vande Weerd. Roll call was answered by 25 members with the "Name of the Fabric of the Outfit they were wearing." The secretary's and treasurer's reports were read and approved.

For old business we drew names for the old club camera with Ronda Van't Hof as the happy winner. For new business we discussed the 4H Camp for 7th and 8th graders this year at Okoboji with six members interested in attending. We were also told that for our special project next month sve need yard of 45" cotton print material and three buttons 3 wide. Mary Van Wyk was welcomed to the club as a new member. The meeting was closed with the 4-H Pledge led by Sheila Schutt.

Demonstrations were then given by Starla Schutt on "Pattern Kathy Pottebaum with a "Posture Laurie Pottebaum on "Hair Debbie Klein on "Laying Out Tote Bag and Denise Blankers on "Sewing the Our leader, Joyce, demonstrated sewing the Tote Bag. For activity time we layed out and cut out our T-Shirts and Tote Bags. A delicious lunch was served by Jule and Jeanne Auchstetter and their mother. Our next meeting will be on May 10 at 2 p.m. at the Community Building with Lisa and Lori Jungers as hostesses.

MATTHEW IS ONE Mr. and Mrs. George Kersten entertained at their home on Sun. evening with a party for the first birthday of their son, Matthew. Guests were his grandparents, Mr, and Mrs.
