Oliva spent months gathering the period furniture, the rugs, draper ies, silver ana paintings, in many parts of the world at huge expense. Three years later, in 1931. his fortune began to collapse, and last year he filed a petition in bankruptcy. 13. Representatives from high schools in all parts of California will be invited to participate in the next Conference of Youth on American Ideals. This was announced today by President E. A. Rogers, who called the last conference, held on Armistice Day.

He said the meeting was so successful that it was decided to widen the activities of the conference. The last conference was held at the Montezuma School for Boys, of which Rogers is president, was attended by high school representatives from high schools in the bay region.
