Dierdorf, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, in 1996, played his college ball for Bo Schembechler at Michigan before be-' ing drafted by the Big Red in 1971. He was named the NFL's outstanding lineman from 1976-78. Dierdorf was the anchor on a Big Red offensive line that was arguably the best in the NFL in the mid-1970s.

It also featured Conrad Dobler, Tom Banks and Tom Brahaney, Bob Young and Roger Finnic Among the other inductees were Heisman Trophy winners Marcus Allen and Johnny Rodgers.
