5 OCT 51986 (g) Oct. 5, 1986 ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH 15D California Gangs Trade Gunfire At Football Game; 2 Wounded hard-core street gangs," Dochnahl said. "These kids don't go to school." Douglas Hooper, 19, of Los Angeles, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Police said he had been carrying a loaded pistol.

Stray bullets struck a 14-year-old girl near the concession stand and a man sitting in the front row of the stands. They were treated for minor wounds. At least six other people suffered bumps and bruises when the bulk of the 1,200 spectators rushed for the exits after hearing the shots. The game was suspended, with the Pasadena Bulldogs leading the Monrovia Wildcats 13-6. Police hope Hooper will help officers identify the other gang members, who Dochnahl said are known for their history of violence against each other.
