Mr. Modugno expects to receive his bachelor's degree in civil engineering in June from the University of Missouri and to be commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army. An early summer wedding is being planned. Brooke Payne Is Engaged to Lt.

E. G. Tenney MR. AND MRS. Brooke McBlair Payne, Phoenix, formerly of St.

Louis, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Brooke Payne, to Army Lt. Edward Gilman Tenney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Tenney, Castine, Me.

The bride-elect is a granddaughter of Mrs. James K. Payne, a former St. Louisan 1 living in Washington, the late Mr. Payne, the late Guy W.

Oliver and the late Mrs. William Scarlett. The wedding will be Sept. 1 18 in Castine, with retired Missouri Episcopal Bishop Scarlett officiating. Miss Payne graduated from St.

Charles High School and attended Foothill Junior College, Los Altos, Calif. In September, she expects to graduate from Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing. Mr. Tenney, an alumna of Milton Academy, Milton, attended Hobart College, Geneva, N.Y. He is a graduate of Officers Candidate School, stationed at Fort Sill, Okla.

Miss Hoffmann Becomes Bride ST. FRANCIS DeSales Catholic Church was the setting of the recent wedding of Miss Jeannette Mary Ann Hoffmann and Phillip Andrew Schorr. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Adele Hoffmann, 2850 Pennsylvania avenue. Mr.

Schorr is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. 0. Schorr of Clinton, Ia.

Mrs. Robert Koutzman was matron of honor and Miss Mary Steinbeck was bridesmaid. Mr. Schorr's brother, John E. Schorr of Akron, was best man.

Ushers were Richard T. Cummings, Robert D. Hohertz, E. Malcolm Thompson, John D. Raithel and William E.

Schroeder. The couple is making their home in Crestwood. Carolyn Roberts, John J. Leber Plan July Wedding MISS CAROLYN ROBERTS of Schenectady, N. will be married in July to John Joseph Leber, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Wilbur N. Leber, 3842 Melba place, Normady. Their engagement was announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Dockery C. Roberts of St. Pauls, N.C. The bride-elect was graduated from East Carolina College, Greenville, N.C., where she was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. She taught school at an air base in Rota, Spain, for two years for the Department of Navy and is now teaching in Schenectady.

Mr. Leber was graduated from the University of Missouri, where he became a member of Phi Delta Theta. He recently returned from two years service in Germany, where he first lieutenant with the "Army Reserve. The couple will live in Cleveland, 0. Cernicek-Ceccarini The wedding of Miss Dolores Adele Ceccarini and Gerald Bernard Cernicek was held recently at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Floyd Ceccarini, 3334 Oakdale street. Mr. Cernicek is the son of Mrs. Henry Cernicek, 1041 Wylin court, Ferguson.
