Even through their many disappointments they seem to fight harder and try more. Ages. of the boys range from 14 to 17. From youngest to oldest they are: Michael Newman, Mike Wee, Jene Burman and Skip Daley. They are all intelligent, witty and talented and carry with them a sense of fun everywhere they go.

I asked the boys if they have trouble with people accepting their longish hair. They said, "Our hair may look strange, but its purpose is attention." I feel in their case the long hair can be overlooked, because they keep themselves well-groomed, not like some of the groups we all have had the misfortune of witnessing on television. The boys recently joined the Musicians Union, opening he doors for many future appearances. They are a great group, but hearing them play is only half. You must meet the boys personally to see what fun they are and how their personalities round out their quality.

They will be appearing next Tuesday through Friday as co-hosts with Delcia Devon, when Famous-Barr opens its new "Trolley Shop," a mod shop for young girls on the fifth floor of Downtown Famous. I suggest that you attend. I believe you'll have the time of your life. They wild also appear Sunday night at a Bermuda dance at St. Anthony's High School, Meramec street and Michigan avenue.

I would like to mention what a pleasure and interesting experience it was working with Frank Sinatra Jr. I found him to be one of the most talented musicians and singers I have worked with, contrary to what I had heard about him. I feel that with his talent, he could go to the top even if his name were Jones or Smith, instead of Sinatra. Tomorrow at 10 a.m. the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3944, will give a picnic for or Twin Pools and Thursday, Club Idle-a-While.

G. Molner, M.D. Dear Dr. Molner: AS YOU know, there is a new fad among girls of having their ears pierced. I would like to do it but how should I go about it so they won't get infected? Should I have my doctor pierce them, or some other experienced person? ANN IT'S NOT a new fad, Ann.

It's been going on for years. With any of the do-it-yourself methods, every so often infection results, which is painful, dangerous and expensive. The only safe method I know is to have your doctor do it, because he knows how to prevent risk of infection. For him it is' a simple procedure. This is the only honest answer I can give you: Let your doctor do it.

Dear Dr. Molner: MY SISTER gives her children cola drinks all the time. The oldest ds 10. Is this harmful? MRS. S.

TO SOME degree, it can be. The nutritional value of cola drinks (or that of any soda) is essentially the sugar in them. Therefore they should be treated as you would candy: An occasional treat is fine; a steady diet is wrong. The cola drinks also contain caffeine, a stimulant just as coffee is, and healthy chidren don't need stimulants. Too much can make them jittery.

I certainly don't condemn soft drinks, but they should be used with common sense. Dear Dr. Molner: I AM a diabetic and must lose weight. A spokesman for McDonnell Aircraft Corp. says that the capsules are landed several hundred miles from the coast to allow a safe distance margin from the Florida mainland in case the re-entry course is altered.

He says the spacecraft are re-usable, but there are mo such plans by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The capsule must be completely disassembled and cleaned. THE EASIEST answer Which will help the most people in the most places, is to suggest that you get in touch with your local Diabetes Association, or with your Visiting Nurse Association. Both encounter this problem often, and can suggest cookbooks and meal plans. One simple rule of is for you and your husband to eat the same things, but he can eat more, and you can add to his plate succulent items like butter, cream, gravies and sweets.
