John Caslbon was acquitted on December 4, 1JK2, on a charge of having killed his son, on the South Side. Andy Hutco was acquitted on January 7, 19D3, on a charge of having murdered Peter Mishalls on the South Side, on September 28, 1902.

John Burdi was also found guilty on November 8, 19D2, cm the same charge. John Nausuehle. Samuel Morgan. Steve Balick and Joseph Baliok were also acquitted when tiled on the same charge. Charles Cawley is now awaiting trial on a.

ISiCi, Scanlon was sentenced to one year and eight months in the penitentiary. The second case was that of Hugh Brown, charged with the murder of Peter Brill on Diamond street, Pittsburg.

He was found not guilty. Mathew Quinn. charged with the murder of John Fletcher, at the corner of Grant street and Seventh avenue, December 22, was convicted of murder in the second degree. He was sentenced to the penitentiary for 11 years and IO months. George McClelland, charged with the murder of Philip K.

Sutton, at Tarentum on March 24, 1 was convicted of murder In the second degree on May 15, He was sentenced to 12 years i the Western Penitentiary. Harvey Cook was also charged with the same murder but a. nolle pros was allowed and he was discharged in cteii court on December 31. Wilson Fields, also charged with the same murder, pleaded guilty in court on May IS. and was sentenced to 12 vears in the penitentiary.

Among the others arrested on charge, of, tho same murder, but released on hall, were Charles Orris, John Kechn and Frank Scholl. William Little, on a chargi of killing Hugh McClure. at 29 Poplar alley, on Jun lSfCi. was convicted of murder of the second degree on June 2fi. and was subsequently sentenced to the penitentiary for 12 years.

Harry R. charged with the murder of Mol'y Mason and Isaac- Adrian, in the Allegheny river at Ross Grov, Jvme 30. was tried on October 19 and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary. John 'onwav, charged with the murder of William Gallagher at the corner of Seventeentn and Merriman streets. South Side, on July 21.

was convicted of involuntary manslaughter on October 31. S5S. and was sentenced to eight years in the penitentiary. Patrick Lamb, charged with the murder of Martin Conley. of Allegheny, was released bx- the court on September 4.

Robert MeKnight. charged with the murder of Thomas Hyland. of Allegheny, was convicted of manslaughter on October 2.V IS, and sentenced to nine vears In the penitentiary. Stefano Wetta, charged with the murder of Luigui Frattini, at Heidelberg, was found not guilty and was discharged from court.

Mrunero Carlo was also found not guilty and discharged after being tried for the same offense. Petro Vegleano was also acquitted on the same charge. John Genta was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in connection with the Heidelberg cns and was sentenced to eight years in the penitentiary. James Ciantoreo. charged with the same killing, was subsequently tried and acquitted.

Milovan Krdela. charged with the murder of Paul Misejenoevio, was sentenced to the workhouse for thre months after being tried in court on March 11. 1806. Harrv McAuliffe. charged with th murder of "Harvey Eeker.

and found not guilty. John Schultz, on a charge of killing Joseph Sterba. at Bower Hill, November KMi, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter when called for trial February and he was sentenced to the work house for six months. John Mania, charged with the murder of John Katcho. at Duquesne.

Haymaker. Ralph, alias Rube, Daniels was convicted of being implicated in the killing, and was sentenced to one year in the workhouse. A nolle pris was also allowed upon motion of Mr. Haymaker in the cases of Jamec Williams. Ed Wilson and Frank Watson, who had been accused of the same killing.

Michael Ruminski. who was charged with the murder of his wife. Johanna 1 Ruminski. at 04 Ohio street, Allegheny. on January 27.

1S08. was convicted of murder in the first degree, when tried in court on November 4. 1S0S. He was sentenced to bo hanged, but cheated the gallows by committing- suicide on January 17. 1 'no.
