On Thursday occurred one of the prettiest home weddings of the season at the home of Mr. Lewis C. Rasel, on West Maiden street, when his daughter, Miss Jessie Wilma Rasel, was married to Mr. Melville Miller, of Amity. The ceremony was performed at noon by the bride's pastor, the Rev.

Charles Hemsath, of the English Lutheran Church, in the presence of a large number of friends. Miss Lyda Smart, of this place, was honor maid, and Mr. Raymond Rasel the best man. The Lohengrin wedding music was played by Mrs. Hemsath.

Following the wedding an elaborate luncheon was served. Puring the short time the family of the bride has resided here, having moved here from Lone Pine, she has become very popular and well-known. Mr. Miller, who is a son of the late Stephen IX Miller, of Amity, Is a well-known and practical farmer 'of Amity. What was no doubt the most elaborately arranged dinner of the year in Canonsburg was the one given in the McNary Hall, at that on last Friday A large number of cards had been issued, and many out-of-town guests, from Washington, Pittsburg and other points, were present.

Mrs. William Scheli, of Brookslde avenue, entertained at flinch Thursday afternoon at her home In honor of Miss Nellie Reeves, whose marriage will occur on Thursday, March 31. Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Reeves have issued invitations for the marriage of their daughter, Miss Nellie Reeves to Mr.

Samuel Petron, of Lee-tonia, Ohio, to take place at the home of the bride on Thursday evening, March SI. Professor Norman Duncan, of Washington and Jefferson College, was the guest of honor on last Thursday evening at the banquet of the Canadian Society of Authors, held at Toronto. Canada. Professor Duncan returned to Washington last evening. St.

Patrick's Day was most fittingly observed by the "Thursday Night" girls, when the young women of that set gave a leap year dance in the Morgan Hall. Although a leap year affair, St. Patrick's Day ideas were also much in evidence, as all the girls wore green gowns or green sashes. The decorations in greenery, and shamrocks were ai-ranged in an exceptionally clever manner. Friday afternoon, at her home on West Prospect avenue, Mrs.

William Chrlstiman gave a tea, from 2 to 5 o'clock. The spacious Christiman home was beautifully decorated for the occasion. A large number of invitations had been issued for the affair, and the house presented a very animated scene, with the library and parlors crowded with guests. A euchre was given In the evening. Tuesday evening, last, Luthur Needy entertained a number of his friends at a flinch and pit party.

Earl and Cramer Beatty entertained about 50 of their friends at flinch on Tuesday evening. The homa of Mr. and Mrs. George K. Darham.

of Morganza, was the scene of a very pretty event on Tuesday evening, March 15, it being the occasion of the marriage of their daughter. Miss Mary Roberta Derbana, to Mr. Frank Milea Harper. A large number of guests were present. After the wedding supper, the pair left upon an eastern wedding trip.

A charming affair of Monday evening last was the card party given in honor of Miss Lulu Higginbotham. of Barnes-ville. Ohio, by Mr. and Mrs. J.
