These Predictions Are Based on Normal Water and Weather Conditions The Osage below Bagnell Dam will be fairly low and slightly off color. All of the other streams listed in the chart are ready and waiting. The Huzzah, Courtois, Mineral Fork and Big River will furnish fair bass fishing for those who are skilled in spin and fly fishing. Most of the streams are flushed but clear. There will be some portages on Jacks Fork, but it is running more water than usual for this time of year.

Crawfish and minnows rated best bait on the Niangua. Clearwater is some 10 feet above conservation pool level. Nor-fork is seven feet minus. The Lake of the Ozarks is 4.2 below normal, but is rated as ideal. Crab Orchard, Little Grassy and Devils Kitchen each are in the best shape of the year.

Trout catches have been outstanding at Taneycomo on cheese bait. Channel cat are biting at Reelfoot, and Bluegill are No. 1 at Duck Creek in Stoddard County near Puxico. Top fish of the week: Walter Pierce of Festus, a 5-pound largemouth bass at Wappapello near Holliday Landing, and Harold Wehmeyer of Florissant, a 7-pounder at Norfork. Weekend prediction: Indications are that stream fishing will be better than last season.

Surface lures, yellow leadheads best on the streams. Blue and black plastic worms and Jigs and eels best bait on the large Impoundments. DOUBLE OCCUPANCY R. T.
