McMULLIN, CAROLYN E. (nee Quayle), age 71, of Frontenac, Missouri, on Thursday, March 21, 2002, returned to Jesus, beloved wife of Charles J. McMullin; dear mother of Carol W. McMullin M.D.. Charles J.

(Donna) McMullin Jr. M.D., and James F. (Mina) McMullin; and grandmother of five loving grandchildren. Mrs. McMullin, born May 11, 1930, in Hibbing, Minnesota, was a winner of several Minnesota beauty pageants, a 1952 graduate of Washington University and a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.

For many years she employed her exceptional business skills as assistant store manager of Stix, Baer Fuller and later Dillard's Department Store. She was an accomplished pianist and member of the Salem Methodist Church. Mrs. McMullin did volunteer work for many organizations and published the Symphony Cookbook for the benefit of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Powell Symphony Hall, 718 North Grand St. Louis, Missouri, 63103. He grew up in St. Louis, attended St. Louis University High School and St. Louis University and received his Ph.D. at the University of Berkeley.

Dr. Miller taught history at St. Louis University from 1960 to 1994. After retiring, he continued to teach courses at St. Louis University in an advanced business degree program.

He wrote several textbooks and collaborated with Bob Broeg of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on a book about baseball. He enjoyed teaching, music and baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. Baltimore Orioles and the St.

Louis Browns. He was a member of the choir at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis for many years. He is survived by his wife, Irene; his stepchildren, John (Jo) Moody of Mansfield, Martha (Kevin) Schuler of Webster Groves and Jane Moody of Richmond, Virginia; six grandchildren; several cousins, Mrs. Pierre (Mary) Grace, Edward W.
