THE SUNDAY A10 STAR Sund 8, 2015 OBITUARIES Janet Mae Frantum RIDGELY On this day of our Lord, Nov. 3, 2015, our Heavenly Father opened his arms and called home his beloved daughter, Janet. Janet Mae was born June 27, 1931, to Joseph William Henry Frantum and Myrtle Mae Eckert. Janet and her parents spent most of her early years in the Washington, D.C., area. It was during those lean years that Janet learned to appreciate the little things in life.

They enjoyed going to the movies, listening to the radio on Sunday evening and reading together. Janet spent many summers with grandparents in the country enjoying the outdoors and being on the water. After high school, Janet attended the Maryland School for the Arts, where she studied fashion design. On May 24, 1952, she married Stewart Howard, and together they raised five children. The early years were hard, with both Stewart and Janet working long hours.

Never did they let the family lose focus on shared love and caring for each other. Their home was always open to extended family and friends. It was not usual for there to be three or four generations around the supper table. Janet always found one more bowl of soup in the pot. Janet developed her spiritual life as a Presbyterian attending Woods Memorial Church until 1976, when she moved to the Eastern Shore and found the Pres- byterian Church in Easton.

Janet served as financial secretary for 20 years while serving on various committees. She was an ordained elder and deacon. Following her example, Janet was an active member of the Presbyterian Association for more than 50 years. Janet is welcomed to the Heavenly Kingdom to join her parents and husband. Together they watch over those left on earth, daughter Elaine (Reed) and her husband Ken, and their children, Morgan and Jordan, and son, Jerimiah; daughter Linda (Wright) and her husband Al, their daughter, Samantha, and daughters, Madison and Myiah; daughter Shirley and her husband Larry; aughter Jean and her husband Joe, their son, Stewart, and his wife, Rebecca their children, Ashley, Hailey and Hunter, and children, Tinsley and Cayden.

Janet leaves behind a son, Stewart Jr. Funeral services for Janet are planned for Tuesday, Nov. 10. The visitation and fellowship will be at 4 p.m. with service at 6 p.m.
