Fed-Up Vets Throw Fireworks In Harbor New Haven, July 1. (JP) It was too much like something they'd had too much of overseas during the war, so a group of residents of a nearby veterans housing project tossed part of a huge fireworks display into New Haven last night.

Police Captain Patrick Demp-sey, who said the fireworks were part of the annual St. Andrews' Day celebration of Italian-American residents of the city at Waterside Park, reported that no arrests were made. He quoted the veterans, who appeared after the first aerial bombs exploded, as declaring "We had four years of this kind of noise, and now we want peace and quiet."
