What Investigates know: Witnesses have said only that a black, older- model car was seen in the area around the time Wilson disappeared. JPjlsadena Student Strangled Name: Kimberly Raye Pitchford Age: 16 Last seen: Around 6 p.m. the evening of Feb.

3, 1973 at Dobie High School in Houston, where Pitchford was leaving a driver's education class. Two Angleton teen-agers found her partially-clothed body two days later in a drainage ditch one mile north of Iowa Colony, on County Road 65 north of County Road 63. Cause of death: Investigators believe Pitchford was strangled to death, possibly with a rope. What Investigators know: Pitchford's coat was found hanging on a fence near the body. Name: Nina Lynn Kluge Age: 16 Last seen: Late in the evening of Oct.

22, 1975, Kluge visited friends in Rosharon. The Cypress girl's nude body was found faying on a pile of clothing. Fort Bend County Sheriff's deputies later find her vehicle on Highway 6 near Arcola. Cause of death: Unknown. What investigators know: Only that tire tracks were found in the area near the body.

Names: Georgia Geer and Brooks Bracewell Ages: 14 and 12 Last seen: Both girls attended MacAdams Junior High School in Dickinson. Geer's mother reported the two were waiting at a bus stop the morning of Sept. 6, 1974, but apparently decided against going to school that day. The girls were seen later that day at the El Rancho Motel on County Road 517 near Alvin with several males, playing foosball. They were again seen later in the day, without the males, hitchhiking along CR 517.

Geer Bracewell What Investigators know: A roughneck working for a Houston drilling company finds two human skulls and a large amount of bones on April 18, 1976, in a drainage ditch area at a Phillips Oil site. Several items of clothing are found in subsequent searches. Condemned killer Henry Lee Lucas, now on Texas Death Row, was brought to Brazoria County in the late 1970s for questioning about the murders, but authorities said he gave only vague details about "picking up two girls" and was never a solid suspect. Landfill Murder Name: Albina Konvicka Age: 73 Last seen: The longtime Damon resident was last seen at home the early evening before her nude body was found, on Aug. 14, 1979 by a bulldozer operator at the Precinct 2 county landfill near the woman's home.

Cause of death: Konvicka's chest was crushed and she was severely beaten. Her body also had been mutilated. Autopsy results indicated she died early the morning of Aug. 14. What Investigators know: Konvicka routinely rummaged at the landfill as a pastime.

When her body was found, it was wrapped in a blue blanket. Searchers later found her skirt and blouse in the landfill, and the skirt had traces of blood. Heavy foot traffic and rainfall at the landfill hampered the initial search for more clues. Investigators believe Konvicka was killed at the landfill, and initially searched for a connection of her murder to three similar ones in the Houston area at the time. Those connections were discounted.

bther. Son Killed in Home Names: Evelyn Rosenbaum and son James Rosenbaum Ages: 58 and 23 Last seen: At their home in the 200 block of Crestmont in Hillcrest Village near Alvin. Cause of death: Both died from close-range gunshot wounds to the head. What investigators know: The father finds the bodies inside the home on Dec. 29, 1987 and contacts the sheriff's office.

Authorities have said the killings were made to look like a murder-suicide, but that scenario has been disproved and the sheriff's office today says it has a suspect in the case. illas Woman Bound. Officials believe someone pushed Harrison's body off a bridge into the water. Condemned Texas killer Kenneth McDuff has been named as a suspect, since the manner in which Harrison was bound and killed matches other Harrison McDuff killings.

Local authorities said McDuff was not seen for about six days around the time Harrison was killed. Ahmed from the word "Junior" tattoed on the man's chest. TIMELINE OF UNSOLVED MURDERS INVESTIGATED BY THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE 1990s NXNNVS, 1 a Sanford Continued from Page 1A murder were also bizarre. Surely, area residents thought, no one could just kill a teacher as she drove down a highway in the safety of her car, seemingly protected by metal and glass, and drive away in broad daylight unseen, unheard and unpunished. But so far, that's exactly what has No arrests have ever been made in the case.

But Brazoria County Sheriff's Department investigators have a primary suspect. And they believe at least two people were in that mysterious vehicle that vanished into thin air. Trouble is, there's a limited amount of evidence, no eyewitnesses to speak of and no takers on the thousands of dollars in reward money up for grabs. Investigators Ollie Falks and Gary Stroud have spent four years on the case, chasing leads and tips. All it's going to take to solve the mystery is for someone to talk.

Falks said he believes that will eventually happen. "I truly believe that someone out there knows something," Falks said recently, sitting in his office at the new Brazoria County Sheriff's Department headquarters. "It's just going to take them getting the courage to call us and passing that information on." Sanford's family is hoping for that phone call, too. Not only do they want to see justice served they also want some answers as to why their loved one had to die. Not a solo act Sanford was little more than a mile from the Highway 35 turnoff when the fatal shot was fired from a 12-gauge shotgun some time between 7:30 and 7:40 a.m.

Falks said the shot is believed to have been fired from a car driving at extremely close range to Sanford's. The shot first struck Sanford's car on the chrome See SANFORD, Page 7A Husband of slain teacher still hoping $10,000 reward will add clues to case By Peggy O'Hare The Brazosport Facts The $10,000 reward that Curtis Sanford offered a few years back for information regarding his wife's murder still stands today. But Sanford, who has since remarried and still lives in the area, is not so sure Donna Beth Sanford's killer will ever be brought to justice. "I've got a lot of doubt," Sanford said, when asked if he thinks the case will ever be solved. "If it were going to happen, I would think it would've happened by now.

"It's just gone on for so long." Time has not healed Curtis Sanford's wounds. His mannerisms alone are testament to that. He struggled through a recent interview with tears in his eyes and shaking hands, fidgeting with his wedding band. He speaks slowly as he painfully discusses losing his wife of 10 years to a brutal and bizarre murder that has never been solved. "It's really frustrating, because (the investigators) know who did it, and I know who did it," he said softly.

"There's not much I can do about it without doing something really wrong. "What choice does anyone have? You can do one of tw.o things you can take it in your own hands or you can wait." Sanford is sickened by the fact that the person who killed his wife has enjoyed four years of freedom. "This person's gotten the chance to live those years," he said. "Those are four years they shouldn't have gotten." Sanford still attends the Wilkins- Downing Church of Christ in Angleton, where he and Beth served as youth ministers. "That has been a real comfort, a real he said.

"There's still good in a lot of people. "We've just got to go on as best as we can." The $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case. Angleton Area Crime Stoppers is also offering up to $1,000 for information resulting in an arrest and charges being filed. Various educators, school officials and members of the community have also pledged to give toward a separate reward fund being overseen by David Jennings and Jeep Mitchell. That fund is also being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
