0. ENGINEER, DIES Jedd L. Harrigar, 76, of 413 South Lee street, well known retired B. O. engineer who had been a resident of Garrett since 1905, died Sunday at 9:45 a.m.

The traveler from down under is the treasurer of the National Parks association of Queensland, Australia. He became acquainted with Mrs. Kearns through the association, of which she is a life member. Mrs. Kearns is a native of Australia.

Queensland is one of Rural Mishaps Cause Nearly $4,000 Damages Three persons were injured in traffic accidents in rural DeKalb county during March but the county escaped the 31-day period without a traffic fatality. Sheriff Dorsie A. Likens released today his report on rural accidents showing property damage from rural mishaps amounting to $3,850. Rural accidents in March caused $3,825 damage to vehicles involved and $25 damage to other property. The sheriff and his deputies investigated nine rural accidents in March compared with eight in March, 1960.

Officials of the Indiana High School Athletic Association announced Saturday that DeKalb county sclwols will participate in the sectional high school golf tourney at Fort Wayne in May. The finals of the state competition will be held on May 27 at the Coffin course in Indianapolis. She will also serve as adjudicator for the thirty-second annual National Piano Playing Auditions to be held in Marshall, Texas. Sixty thousand piano pupils from coast to coast will participate in this piano playing event.
