September 18, 1986 KerrvIHe Mountain SUM Page thirteen Six events planned for Kerr Sesquicentennial Kerr County has six sanctioned sesquicentennial organizations to help celebrate Texas' 150th birthday. They are: Kerr County Sesquicentennial Commission, Kerrville Sesquicentennial Committee, West Texas (Ingram, Hunt, Mt.

Home) Sesquicentennial Committee, Center Point Sesquicentennial Committee, Kerrville Music Foundation Sesquicentennial Association and Texas Arts Crafts Fair Sesquicentennial Association. All have announced special events for 1986 and these events are on the State of Texas Official Sesquicentennial Calendar. Tourists across the Nation have been invited to this birthday party and are funished the calendar. Do we want them to see us as we are today? Or as we can be? We can be so much better than we are if we want to and we will try. Somebody could stard a new business with a broom, a shovel, a weeder, and a can--a private street sweeper.

We have chimney sweeps so why not street sweeps? Once Texas was the cleanest and most beautiful State in the Nation. We are now at the bottom. The tourist accounts for only of our trash; the other is us--you and somebody is having to spend a lot of money for our bad habits. Put your trash where it belongs--its last resting place. Whenever you put it where it does not belong you are violating the litter law-you are i putting your trash on somebody else's property.

UDROPITf YOUPIKITUP! Clean up your own place and help somebody else to clean up theirs. TOGETHER WE CAN DO IT! Wetting? Please come by and pick up our engagement and wedding information forms. They list all the data we need to write an adequate story about your happy event. Black and white prints are better, but sometimes we are lucky with color prints, Kerrville Mountain Sun.
