A capacity crowd of 9000 persons witnessed the battle. Coach Fenenga of Cleveland filed a protest with th'e league authorities at the end of the first half, and fin ished the game under protest.

The Cleveland mentor declared that the second quarter was three and on-half minutes short. Umpire Haight stated that his timing was correct aand that full time was consumed. The lineups: Cleveland. Position. Central Williams L.

A forward pass from Neale to Richeson gained 40 yards and put the ball on Princeton's 17-yard line. Mallory smashed through for five ards. Then Neale made it first down on the five-yard line.

In three plays Yale scored a touchdown. The score was made by Pond on a line plunge. Mallory added a point by a placement kick and the score was Yale 7. Princeton 0. Richeson ran back the kick off 30 ards and Pond, by a 15-yard line smash, gave Yale a first down, and after another exchange of punts.

Princeton had the ball on its SS- ard line as the first period ended. Score, end of first period: Yale. Princeton. 0. On the first play of the second period Princeton made a first down for the first time in the game, putting the ball on Its own 48-yard line.

The Tiger offensive was checked when Pond intercepted a forward pass on Yale's 42-yard line. LOUISVILLE. Nov. 17. Although a penetrating November chill wept the course, the sun streamed through a cloudless sky, leaving the trtck fast, after last night's rain. The track conditions were entirely suitable to In Memoriam, which performs best over a swift course.

The reported betting odds made Zev a 3-to-a favorite, with 8 to 5 on In Memoriam. The race took on added importance because the winner will be invited to represent this country in the international race being projected in France next May. Zev has won races out of 13 tarts, at all distances from six furlongs to one mile, and ahalf. Including the Kentucky Derby, the Withers, the Belmont Stakes, the Lawrence Realization and handicaps in which he met and beat older horses. In Memoriam has won six racas In 14 starts, with one exception from ordinary company.

In that one. the Latonia championship, at one mile and six furlongs, he beat Zev and My Own. It is more than likely that Zev will run one more match race before the season ends. Sam Hildreth said at the track that he was agreeable to accept Rear Admiral Cary T. Grayson's challenge for a meeting with My Own under the eame conditions as the race today.

It ia probable that this race, if finally arranged, will not take place for 10 nays at least. In the drawing for post position. In Memoriam got the rail. Mack Carner had the mount on Wiedemann's colt. Sande rode Zev.
