School Tax Backed The Rock Hill Board of Alder-men adopted a resolution this week endorsing the proposed 11-cent tax increase being sought by the Webster Groves School District. The proposal will be voted on in a special election Feb. 24. Cleveland Art The South County Bank January art show features the work of Cleveland High School students prepared the direction of James Elliott. The professional show is by 13 members of the S.J.U.-Edwards-vijle art arranged by Don Davis, chairman of the art and design faculty.

The show is open to the public during banking hours which includes Fridays until 8 p.m. and Saturdays until noon. At 2 p.m. tomorrow Davis will present a critique on the Cleveland student show and select the winners. A wide variety of media, including oils, water colors, acrylic and tempera paintings, ceramics, wood carvings, weaving, embroidery and charcoal drawings by 24 students are included in the Cleveland exhibit.

Fechner, a student at Augustinian Academy, won the annual Voice of Democracy contest of the South St. Louis Deistrict 11, Veterans of For- eign Wars and Ladies Auxiliary, Fechner will receive a $75 savings bond at a school assem- bly in February.
