Among the survivors are his wife, Joyce Ray; a son, Peter Ray III; a sister, Lorene Phelps; two brothers, Leroy Ray and Walter Ray; two stepdaughters, Valerie Sutton and Sharon Sutton; a stepson, Carl Sutton; and seven stepgrandchildren, all of St. Louis.

elementary schoolteacher, died Wednesday (Oct. 31, 1990) at her home in St. Louis after a long illness. She was 84. Mrs.

Strawbridge, a longtime resident of St. Louis, taught for 40 years in the St. Louis public schools. She retired in the mid-1960s. She was a trustee, Sunday school at the Scruggs Memorial C.M.E.

Church In St. Louis. She was a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Phyllis Wheatley YWCA and Zeta Phi Beta sorority. Mrs. Strawbridge was born In Millport, Ala.

She graduated In 1925 from Stowe Teachers College. at Scruggs Memorial Church, 3680 Cook Avenue. be In Calvary Cemetery. the survivors are a stepdaughter, Susie Hughes of St. Louis; Rubye M.

Jackson and Crenshaw, both of St. Louis; step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. Peter Ray, a tap dancer from St. Louis who appeared on television and in movies, died of cancer Monday (Oct. 29, 1990) at his home in St.

Louis. He was 76. Mr. Ray began tap dancing at an early age. He entered show business in 1932, when he and his sister won first place in a local walk-a-thon.

In 1965, Mr. Ray won $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to Miami Beach to appear on the Jackie Gleason Show. He later appeared in vaudeville, night clubs and several motion pictures, including "The Hoodlum Priest" in the 1950s. Mr. Ray was born in St.

Louis and served in the Army in World War II. He was a laborer for 15 years at the American Car Foundry in St. Louis before he retired in 1981. A funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Eddie Randle and Sons Funeral Home, 4600 Natural Bridge Avenue.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial FUNERAL NOTICES Sylvan Agatstein, 90; Longtime Lawyer Mr. Agatstein was born in St. Louis and got his law degree from Washington University.

A funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Temple Emanuel, 12166 Conway Road in Creve Coeur. Burial will be private. Among the survivors are his wife, Celia Jo Agatstein of Ladue; two daughters, Jane Diamond of Denver and Barbara Peniston of Ladue; and five grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Sylvan Agatstein, a longtime lawyer in St. Louis, died Thursday (Nov. 1, 1990) at Jewish Hospital after a long illness. He was 90. Mr.

Agatstein, of Ladue, practiced law for more than 60 years in St. Louis and for a short time in California. He was a co-founder of the law firm Susman, Stern, Agatstein and Heifetz in the early 1970s. He was a co-founder in the early 1980s of the law firm of Popkin, Stern and Reby. He also was a co-founder and past president of Temple Emanuel in Creve Coeur.

William Goldsand; Electrical Engineer sold in 1984, but Mr. Goldsand continued working there until he retired in 1986. A graveside service will be held at 1 1 a.m. today at United Hebrew Cemetery in University City. Among the survivors are his wife, Lilly Goldsand of University City; a daughter, Judith Clifford of Marlboro, N.J.; a son, Eugene Goldsand of Ladue; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Israel, 10675 Ladue Road, Creve Coeur, Mo. 63141. William Goldsand, a former co-owner of an electrical manufacturing firm in St. Louis, died Wednesday (Oct. 31, 1990) at Colonial Health Care Nursing Home in University City after a long illness.

He was 85. Mr. Goldsand was born in Austria. He got his bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Vienna. He came to this country with his wife in 1939, joined Powercraft Corp.

and became co-owner of the business in the mid-1960s. The company was William Pagenstecher, 79; Bank Executive Revolution. Mr. Pagenstecher was born in New York and was graduated from Princeton University. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific in World War II.

The funeral service and burial will be private. There are no immediate survivors. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Louis Art Museum or to a charity of the donor's choice. William Pagenstecher, a retired bank executive, died Tuesday (Oct.

30, 1990) at Barnes Hospital after a brief illness. He was 79. Mr. Pagenstecher, of St. Louis, joined Boatmen's National Bank in St.

Louis in the mid-1950s as an investment manager. He retired in the early 1970s as vice president and senior investment officer at the bank. He was a past president of the Missouri Society of the Sons of the many years PAGENSTECHER, WIL- on ues. uct. ju.
