On this basis the leadership of the market switched to the industrial shares.

The Dow-Jones industrial average reached 280.05, within 24 cents of its high since April of 1930 set on Aug. 11. The market met some slight opposition to the rise and this average closed at 279.32, up 6.05 points on tht week. Railroad issues were strong also and they made a better showing than the industrials in the Friday session.
