Eggering was a resident of Kerrville for over 20 years and a prior resident of St. Louis, Missouri; he was born on December 21, 1905, in Old Monroe, Missouri; he married Dorothy Frances Fierce on June 14, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri, she preceded him in death on November 12, 1979. Mr. Eggering worked as a traffic manager for International Shoe, retiring after 46 years.

Mr. Eggering received a Certificate of Recognition as "An Outstanding Older Texan" from the Department of Aging.
