He worked as a sales repre He was head of the Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame here since 1982. He also was vice president of the Ron Hunt Eagles Baseball Association in St.

Charles County. He was on the advisory board of the Mathews-Dickey Boys' Club. Martin Mathews, executive director of the boys' club and a longtime friend, said Tuesday: "Not only was Ken Queen a friend to the Math- Kenneth L. Queen, chairman of the Greater St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame, died Monday (Aug.

1, 1994) at Barnes Hospital of complications after surgery for cancer. He was 62 and lived in Florissant. Mr. Queen was an organizer and fund raiser with various youth athletic groups in the St. Louis area for 40 years." She was born in Cairo, 111., and graduated in the 1940s from the old Ruth Flowers School of Cosmetology in St.

Louis. She owned the Franklin Avenue Beauty Salon from the 1950s until she retired in the late 1970s. Among the survivors are a daughter, Delores C. Dale of Pagedale; a sister, Ollie Jackson of Olivette; and two grandchildren. A funeral service for Florida Williams Chambers, a retired beauty salon owner, was held July 22 at Prince of Peace Baptist Church, 2741 Dayton Avenue.

Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Mrs. Chambers, 92, of Pagedale, died July 17, 1994, at St. Mary's Health Center in Richmond Heights after a brief illness. u.

Queen was born in Caledonia, Mo. He served in the Air Force in the early 1950s. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Road, Florissant, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery in Caledonia.

Among the survivors are his wife of 39 years, Barbara Queen; two sons, Roy Queen of Labadie, and Joseph Queen of Leslie, and eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Mathews-Dickey Boys' Club. Chillicothe, and St. Joseph, Mo. as well as in Michigan, Wisconsin, Colorado, Indiana and Illinois.

After she retired from teaching in 1971, she served in parish ministry until 1989. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Nazareth Living Center, 2 Nazareth Lane, Mehlville. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the living center, with a prayer service at 2:15 p.m.

Burial will be at Nazareth Living Center Cemetery. There are no immediate survivors. Sister Mary Fides Lewandowski, a retired elementary teacher, died in her sleep Monday (Aug. 1, 1994) at Nazareth Living Center in Mehlville. She was 88.

Sister Lewandowski was born in Chicago. She entered the order of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1925 and professed her final vows in 1930. She earned a bachelor's degree from Font-bonne College. She began teaching in 1927 in Ste.

In parlor ijkV 4-9 p.m. NEUMAN, HERBERT CARL, 85, of Steedman, MO, died on Aug. 1, 1994, at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia. He was born on July 28, 1909 in Chicago, IL, the son of Herman and Bertha Hass Neuman.

He married Muriel Mohrien Vieth on May 24, 1942 in Danville, IL. She survives of the home. Mr. Neuman is also survived by three children, Jeanie Strickland of Steedman; Herbert Carl Neuman, II of Fallon, MO: and Dianne L. Fields of Florissant, MO; and one sister, Margaret Stone of Chicago, IL.

Mr. Neuman was preceded in death by two sisters, and his parents. The Neuman's moved to Florissant in 1959 and lived there for fifteen years, then moved to the St. Charles area until 1992, when they moved to Steedman. Mr.

Neuman attended the University of Illinois for three years. He retired from the Nestle Co. in 1966 after 27 years of service. Graveside Services will be held at the St. Charles Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Aug.
