Babette Morgan We Start With A Little Encouragement We know you're going to fill out this new tax form. After all, the state of Missouri is "encouraging" you to, and you believe in paying every penny you owe in taxes. Absolutely.

The new form, called the Consumer's Use Tax Form, will be part of your Missouri income tax returns. It asks you to report the purchases you made out of state for use in Missouri, then pay the state tax on them. Examples would be things bought through mail order catalogs or TV shopping channels when no sales tax was collected. The state Department of Revenue says it is "encouraging" people to file the report this year. "In 1994, all taxpayers will be expected to file," says the department.

May is negotiating to buy seven of the 10 Steiger's stores owned by Albert Steiger according to a report in the Union-News of Springfield, Mass. The newspaper did not identify the source of its information. Steiger's, founded 101 years ago, has suffered recently because of poor sales. May based in St.

Louis, refused to comment on speculation about a deal. Though no announcement has been made, residents of Springfield are already worrying about the fate of their downtown Steiger's store, which is not one of the seven stores identified as part of a purchase by May. May has 312 stores nationwide, If you answered "no" to even one question, you could be getting better banking service.
