WTRE-AM has become a country music-news station.

The new station features adult contemporary or "light rock" music and promises 54 minutes of music each hour. Morning-only national news broadcasts are being done with local headline news to be added later. The two stations are owned by Keith Reising of Corydon, majority stockholder; and Tom Allebrandi, Carmel. minority stockholder. Columbus will get its third FM radio station in December, according to the plans announced today by Radio Station WRZQ-FM, now headquartered at Greensburg in the same building as WTRE-AM.

Joseph Riddell, general manager of both stations and the son of Mr and Mrs. Delbert Riddell of Wesfport said WRZQ, at 107.3 on the FM dial, is broadcasting from Greensburg but that it is predominantly a Columbus-Seymour station. He hopes to open an office here by Dec. 1 and make the station Columbus-based. The station is served by satellite network from Colorado Springs, with local station identification calls, commercials and public service announcements.

Riddell said the station's 283-foot' tower will be moved closer to Columbus early next year and its height doubled. WTRE-FM has been closed and THURS.
