Pratt of Glen Cove, of the engagement of their daughter. Miss Mary Christy Pratt, to Bayard Cutting Auchincloss, son of Reginald L. G. Auchincloss of New York and the late Mrs. Auchincloss, who was Miss Ruth Cutting.

Miss Pratt and her mother are former St. Louisans and are related to numerous families of prominence here. The bride-to-be is a granddaughter of Mrs. George Shepley Tiffany of Syosset, L.I., also a former St. Louisan, and the late Mr.

Tiffany. Through her father she is a granddaughter of Mrs. John T. Pratt of New York and the late Mr. Pratt.

A former student at John Burroughs School, Miss Pratt was graduated from Milton (Mass.) Academy and attended Wellesley College. In 1948 she made her debut at a supper dance in Glen Cove and was a member of New York's Junior Assemblies. She has two sisters, Mrs. Kennett F. Potter Love (Felicite Pratt) and Miss Ruth Pratt, and one brother, John T.

Pratt III. MR. AUCHINCLOSS is an alumnus of Groton School and Harvard College, class of 1545, where he was a member of Porcellian Club, undergraduate organization. In the war he was a combat pilot, with the rank of first lieutenant, in the air offensive on Germany, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with eight Oak Leaf Clusters. Now an instructor at Cassidy School, Oklahoma City, he belongs to the Racquet and Tennis, Knickerbocker and Tuxedo Clubs of New York and the Racquet and Tennis Club of Boston.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. Fulton Cutting and the late Mr. and Mrs.

Edgar S. Auchincloss. INVITATIONS have been issued by Mr. and Mrs. William Gage von Weise, 9 Lenox place, for a cocktail party which is scheduled to take place Satur-d-y evening, Feb.

25, at the Junior League tearoom. Mrs. G. Mason Owlett will arrive today to be the guest of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Robert L.

Latzer. and Mr. Latzer, 6345 Ellenwood avenue, Clayton. She will be joined during her 10-day stay by Mr. Owlett, who will accompany her to their home in Wellsboro, Pa.

MR. AND MRS. Clelland A. Antrim, 5066 Westminster place, will have as their guests this weekend Mr. and Mrs.

Robert J. Wood, who moved from St. Louis to Decatur, 111., several years ago. During their visit Mr. and Mrs.

Wood -will be entertained informally. The An-trims will honor them at a cocktail and buffet supper tomorrow. Sunday noon Mr. and Mrs. Samuel C.

McCluney will be host and hostess at a breakfast at their home, 5642 Kingsbury boulevard. Later this winter Mr. and Mrs. Antrim, accompanied by their daughter, Miss Jane Carey Antrim, and son, Courtney, students at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School respectively, will depart for Point Clear, where they will be guesta-at the Grand Hotel for two weeks.

Mrs. Antrim returned a few days ago from a visit -in Washington with her mother, Mrs. C. A. Shands, and her brother and sister-in-law, Capt.

Strickland Jr. took place last Sunday at Chapel, Scott Air yorce Base, where her father is Chief of Staff, Air Training Command. Lt. Col. Howell G.

Guin, Army chaplain, performed the cere mony. The bride wore a tulle and chantilly lace gown, the lace bodice fitted to a low waistline and attached to a full lace-trimmed skirt. Her fingertip veil was held by a lace juliet cap. She carried camellias with spring flowers. Miss Charlotte Caldwell, her sister's maid of honor, was gowned in pale pink lace and tulle.

The bridesmaid, Mrs. David Rennie, had an aqua gown. They carried contrasting bouquets. CHARLES STRICKLAND. Fountain City, was best man for his brother.

They are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Bunyan D. Strickland, Montgomery, Ala. Ushers were Capt.

Rennie and Lt. Donald Walt-mire. The bride and bridegroom cut the wedding cake with Gen. Caldwell's saber at a reception given at the Officers Club after the "ceremony. Lt.

Strickland and his bride will take a short wedding trip before going to Fort Richardson, Alaska, where he is based. The bride was graduated from the American Grammar and High School, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and from Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School, New York. Lt. Strickland is an alumnus of Alabama Polytechnical Institute. His fraternity is Sigma Nu.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell E. Lortz. 14 Hortense place, will join the large St.

Louis contingent at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Feb. 25. Next Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Wil-lard Bailey Shelp 484 Belt avenue, and their daughter, Mrs.

Sheila Shelp Graham, will depart for the same hotel. Both the Lortzs and the Shelps will made by members of Delta Oamma Monday evening at a meeting in the sorority rooms at Washington University. There will also be a. business meeting and election of alumnae officers. Miss Doris Rea will be hostess for a meeting of Alpha XI Delta alumnae and their escorts Monday evening at her home.

5414 Delmar boulevard. There will be a talk by F. W. Trampe. TWO CARD PARTIES will be given Tuesday by the Sigma Chi Mother's Club at the fraternity house on the Washington University campus.

Dessert and coffee will be served at 1:30 o'clock before cards and refreshments will be served at 8 o'clock in the evening. The second party has been arranged so the fathers of fraternity members may attend. Mrs. Arthur Grumbine is general chairman and Mrs. George Ewing; hospitality chairman.

Miss Shirley Pinck-ert, president of the association, and Miss Eleanor Ruble, rush chairman, will answer questions and explain Panhellenic rules. Representatives from each of the ten campus sororities are to be present. Each of the ten sororities in the Women's Building will give a tea Tuesday from 3 to 5:30 p.m. when rushees will visit each room. Informal parties will be held in the sorority rooms Wednesday, Thursday and Fri-dav afternoons, beginning at 3 o'clock.

Names of the new pledges will be made available the following Monday evening, Feb. 20. KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA has announced the awarding of scholarships for 1950. the list including eight graduate fellowships and 19 undergraduate scholarships. Since its founding in 1870 the sorority has contributed more than half a million dollars In scholarship aid to both members and non-members, to American and Canadian girls and to students of many foreign countries.

In the list of awards is a fellowship granted to Miss Mary Louise Johnson of Columbia for graduate study at the University of Missouri. Chi Omega alumnae win have a dinner and card party with a valentine program tomorrow evening at the Winston Churchill tea room. Mrs. W. B.
