The Air Ministry denied last night reports' that the noted French long distance flyer, Pelletier d'Oisy, had been captured by Spanish Fascists, as reported Saturday at Bayonne.

The Ministry said another French aviator named Pelletier was taken from a Spanish Government steamer off San Sebastian by insurgents on tugs. Arthur Leitner, 34 years old, 3910 Virginia avenue, an automobile mechanic employed by the company, was quoted by the police as saying he purchased the explosives in Alton for Rolla (Blackie) Dean, ex-convict, suspected by the police of implication in several recent bombings. Leitner said that a friend had asked him to get the dynamite for Dean, but that Dean, after visiting the shed to look at it, had left it there. Leitner was arrested in a truck identified by Roland Martin, a Negro, as having been stolen from him Aug. 16. Leitner exhibited a bill of sale showing he had purchased the truck from a used car dealer.

It was after arresting him thaf policemen searched the coal company quarters in front of which they had found him sitting in the truck. The Securities- Commission announced today indictments had been returned against seven Individuals charged with defrauding "a large number of persons" in Michigan through dealings in Old Dutch Refining stock. The defendants, the commission said, were Melvan D. Haynes, A. Paul Benners, Angelo Fraino, alias Angelo Franco, Leroy Brooks, alias John Bookbinder, Douglas F. Wood, Harry Goldman and William Wiseman.

The allaged fraud occurred between June 1, 1935, and une 1, 1936. The indictment contained 12 counts, the first six charging mail fraud, the next five violations of the fraud provisions of the Securties Act of 1933, and the last alleging conspiracy. The indictment alleged the scheme to defraud was accomplished through a corporation which entered into an agreement with the Old Putch Refining of Muskegon, to sell to the public, on behalf of the company, shares of 6 per cent convertible cumulative preferred stock, at $1 per share, 15 cents of which was to be retained by the corporation.
