Royal Yeoman, Crucero and four others to win the fifth and feature event of today's race program before a crowd of about 6000. It was Morocco's third vic tory of the meeting, and in each has lost two races in his five starts I here. I Calome, the favorite, was nrst to obtain an advantage after the rise of the barrier. Dent Smith held Morocco in slight restraint in second position all the way down the back stretch and around the far turn a length back of the pace- maker. Crucero was running third, ap- 1 parently ready to move up, but after going three-quarters he tired and Royal Yeoman moved up to replace him.

In the stretch Smith Sent Morocco after Salome and suc ceeded in passing1 him at the eighth pole. The refund was $5.96 for $2. War Nyropli Wins First. The first race this afternoon, won by War Nymph, was productive of more excitement than the spectators have been treated to in weeks. Forecaster, the horse which finished second to War Nymph, ran away after passing the "finish line and when the boy on the lead pony, Lester Newton, attempted to grab the bridle as horse and rider passed the six-furlong chute, he was jerked from the saddle and thrown heavily against the outer rail.

Jockey Belyski, astride Fore caster, continued to make ineffec tual efforts to pull the horse up. He circled the track once and con tinued on for another three-quar ters before the stable pony brought him under control. Newton was picked up, apparently Injured, and carried to the track hospital in the ambulance. War Nymph won the race by overtaking Betty Dean on Robina Seth finished third behind Forecaster, and Betty Dean hung on for fourth place. The winner, ridden by J.

Renick, paid $9.46 for $2. King Halma Wins Second. Oleman Sunshine and King Hal ma ran off and left the others of the field of eight starters in the second race as though they didn't belong in the same company Ole man Sunshine established what looked like a winning lead after go ing half a mile, but Cimerak got King Halma moving fast in the stretch and he came off victorious by four lengths. Henry Sommers was third. nose in front of Ruth Gold, -which closed a big gap.

Friel declared that it was a straight player deal and "that no cash was involved in the transaction. Goslin. the new Brownie, who will be in a St. Louis uniform against his old mates this after noon, has been a .300 mtier eier since he became a regular in me major leagues. Manush was late in starting, but recentlv has been getting his share of base hits and has brought his swat figure up to. .325. Crowder, one of the aces of the American League a few years ago, has had little success for Bill Killefer this vear. He has won only three games while losing six. In 1928 Crowder paced the American League pitchers with 21 victories and only five defeats.
