Trading was at a fast clip a good part of the day. Of 1127 issues traded in 532 declined, 356 advanced and 239 were unchanged. Associated Press average of 60 stocks closed down .1 of a point Sales of 2,100,000 shares com-pared with 2,260,000 yesterday. The market started off on a steady footing. Then buying enthusiasm waned and the main body of stocks started a slow downward movement At the start of the final hour, buying suddenly expanded.
