AdvocateLocal News A2 THE ADVOCATE-MESSENGER, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2002 Ethel C. Smallwood Ethel Mae Cline Small-wood, 79, of Taylor Road died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born July 16, 1923, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late L.E. and Grace Burris Cline. She was a retired employee of South Central Bell Telephone and a Smallwood Sheene.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Sheene Debord of Cincinnati and Nancy Sheene Randolph of Richmond; two sons, Benny Sheene of Middleburg and Robert "Bobby" Sheene of Liberty; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild and a great-grandchild. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Westside Community United Methodist Church by the Revs. Wayne Watts, Scott Wilson and Gary Story.

Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James, Gary and Robbie Sheene, Eddie Crew, Jeff Randolph, Keith Buis, Darien Buis and Jonathan Stubbs. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters. Visitation will be p.m. Friday at W.L.

Pruitt Funeral Home and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the church. Leo Slnkhorn Services for Leo "Corky" Sinkhorn 72, of Mitchell Street, Junction City, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Broadway, by Kenneth Smith and Barry Harmon. Kinder Services for William Henry "Dutch" Kinder, 87, of Frankfort, formerly Lawrenceburg, Youth groups to collect food: Youth groups from The Presbyterian Church and First Christian Church will join forces to collect canned goods for the Salvation Army on Halloween. The groups will meet at their respective churches at 6 p.m. Thursday, visit homes for the collection drive from p.m., then return to the Presbyterian Church for music, prayer and candy. The Presbyterian Church began the event two years ago and, according to the Rev. Kyle D.

Hite, was successful enough to warrant asking other churches to help in the drive. Free meals available to children: A Children's Place and Calvary Child Care Center are participating in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program administered by the Kentucky Department of Education. Seminar on attention disorder set: A seminar titled "Surprising Discoveries in Attention Deficit Disorder" will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at The Presbyterian Church, 500 W. Main Danville. The seminar will be hosted by Danville Learning Disabilities Association and will feature recent research by Dr. Russell Barkley, which indicates the importance of time management in understanding the disorder.

Dr. Lou Ann Kruse will facilitate discussion and answer questions. Parents and teachers are encouraged to attend. City to construct building for salt: Danville City Commission voted Monday to construct a building for salt for $76,797. The building is part of this year's budget.

Salt currently is stored in the city garage. The new building will keep the salt from damaging that building and equipment stored there. The original estimate was $40,000. City Engineer Earl Coffey said the increase in cost was because the design was changed to make the building stronger and the size was enlarged to hold 300 tons instead of 200 tons of salt. The commission also approved purchasing six new "Welcome to Danville" signs for $900 each.

Born Sept. 15, 1913, in Boyle Coun Frankfort. Born Aug. 31, 1915, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Thomas E. and Maudie Harley Kinder.

He was a retired Lawrenceburg Transfer Co. mechanic and farmer. He was a Protestant and the widower of Matrie Kinder. Survivors include three stepsons, Velmer Godbey of Lawrenceburg, Delmer Godbey of Frankfort and Floyd Godbey of Harrodsburg; a stepdaughter, Flonnie Byrd of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Walter Kinder of Versailles and J.S. "Bugg" Kinder of Harrodsburg; five sisters, Ann Doyle of Florida, Elizabeth Tatum of Missouri, Jewel "Judy" Satterly of Louisville, and Vera Conner and Nellie Turner, both of Harrodsburg; and several step-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Troy Thompson, Brent Satterly, Vince and Walter Howard Kinder, Tony Beasley and Terry Godbey. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Thursday. Robert D.

Smith CRAB ORCHARD Services for Robert D. Smith, 54, of Glade Fork Road will be 11 a.m. Thursday at McKnight Funeral Home by Dan Guten-son. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery. He died Monday in Cincinnati.

Born Sept. 16, 1948, in Jamestown, he was the son of the late Robert F. and Dora M. Dutton Smith. He was an employee of Industrial Installers Inc.

Alexander HARRODSBURG Francis W. Alexander, 72, of North Greenville Street died Tuesday at Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Lexington. Born Aug. 18, 1929, in Danville, he was the son of the late Harvey and Frances Wingate Alexander. He had served in the Artillery Unit of the Army in Korea and was a disabled veteran.

He was an Episcopalian. He was a lifetime friend of Garnet Finley of Nicholasville. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery by the Rev. Kenneth Whitehouse.
