$1.50 PER YEAR In Memory of Lawrence Loper. Lawrence and John Loper were twin brothers, born Dec. 12, 1824.1 Their parents were Oliver and Hester Loper. The former was a native of Bridgeport, New Jersey, and the latter, whose maiden name was Baxter, was born in the Miami valley, Butler, County, Ohio. They came to Fairfield at an early day and were the parents of twelve children.

Mr. Loper died at the age of 46, leaving this large family to be cared for by his widow and older sons, who performed their parts nobly in helping in the support and education of the junior members of the household. Lawrence Loper and Elizabeth Gentry were married in 1858. Four sons and seven daughters blessed this union, all living; eight have families and are the fathers and mothers of eighteen children. The primary and ultimate cause of Mr.

Loper's death was paralysis. He departed this life Dec. 12th, 1900, on the 76th anniversary of his birth. His twin brotti- John, died one year ago, on the 14th of December, 1899. They were greatly attached to each other and their families.

It is seldom that parents are more indulgent to children than our Friend was to his family who today mourn their loss. He had a kind word for everyone, hence was popular; his religion was the Golden Rule. He was generous to the poor and the friend of the fatherless. Re was ready for the change. Death had no terrors; he met it fear ora murmer of regret, without leaving in the memory of his family the record of an unkind act.

19, 1900 She was the daughter of Israel and Ann Thursten, and was one of the younger of a large family of children. One by one these brothers and sisters have passed over the river till only one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hyatt, of Illinois, survives her. She became the wife of Elder A L. Thurston, Dec.

12, 1850. They were permitted to journey together for 48 vears of their lives; then, in 1898, the husband was called away, leaving her a widow, and all alone as far as family ties are concerned. She joined the Indian Creek Bap tist Church during her early married life, probably near the year 1855, but for many years past her membership has been at Big Cedar. She was affectionate to her husband, and they were as companionable as children. She was devoted to her church, and a regular attendant at the services whenever her health would permit.

During her long protracted illness, she often expressed a desire, yes, even an intense longing gO and join her husband and her Savior in the better world. Her sufferings are over and the spirit released. Who can for a moment wish her back from that sweet haven of rest, to her bed of suffering here below? Funeral services were held day, Dec. 21st, by Elder J. M.

Tnompson, of Greenfield, after which she was interred in Big Cedar Cemetery. Important Notice.
