One of the largest commercial transactions of the week was the sale of a seven-story and basement building at 1723 Locust street by William J. Clancy to the General Fibre Co.

The building, of fireproof construction, fronts 40 feet on th north side of Locust and extends back 155 feet to St. Charles street. The General Fibre Co. Is a newly formed organization. A spokesman for it said that plans had not been sufficiently completed to disclose its officers or how the building would be used.
