An unprecedented rise in the Uuachita river has overflowed the lowlands for miles along the vallev near here, and is destroying thousands of dollars worth of tiue crops. Incessant hard rains all over this and the section to the north of here nii4 nun a the river rise faster than has ever been known. The government jauge sows 20 feet this morning, and indications are that it win snow several feet more by night. NORTH ARKANSAS SUFFERS Floods Do Much Damage, Althougn Waters Axe Subsiding. 20. Receding during last night as fast as it rose yesterday afternoon, Crooked creek Harrison ia but little above its normal stage this afternoon. Tbe flood caused several hundred dollars damage in Harrison ..,.1 tn thp nrnnrtv of the Missouri and North Arkansas railroad along its line. A two-story residence in Harrison, near the west bank of Crooked creek, occupied by Jack Davis, was luted from its foundation and mrneu arouuu and a rear wing was torn away and overturned. Several other residences were damaged by the water, which rose above the lower floors.

Traffic on the Missouri and North Arkansas railroad is still demoralized, although train No. 2 was made up at Harrison and started north at 5:10 this afternoon. No trains will be run into Harrison before tomorrow. Twelve small bridges were washed out along the line of the railroad between Seligman, and Keusett, aud several were damaged. Bridge crews and extra gangs are at work, all along the line, and regular service will be resumed as soon as possible.
