Several of the neighbors saw the af-lair but it was all done so quicklv that none could stop him. He ran ud the alley, passed through the yard of a vacant house and boarded a Cass avenue car." Mrs. Miller says there can be no doubt that the peddler was her husband. His face was concealed behind a heavy black beard, his nose was painted red and he wore colored glasses. She identified him by his figure and by the trousers and hat he wore.

Mrs. Miller was accompanied to the warrant office by Mrs. A. H. Ryan, who lives next door to her.

Mrs. Ryan says she saw the kidnapping and that she was certain the man was Miller. There were several other small children at play on the sidewalk, but the man picked out the Miller child and ran away. Two boys, each about 12 years old, followed him until he boarded the car. Col.

Johnson had Mrs. Miller report the kidnapping to the police, nd a search Is now being made for Miller. He is supposed to be in the city, but In what part is not known. Winton Springs will also be watched, it being thought that Miller might go to his father. He has no other relative.

Moore of Laclede County, and H. Faulkner, Secretarv. The chief topic discussed was the renewal of insurance on the school buildings, no other matters being coLercered. Senator Oliver says the school of mines is in a flourishing condition and that the appropriation made by the Legislature is amply suflicient to meet all requirements. The Senator, however, very freely criticises the Assembly for not appropriating more money for the University, of which the mining school is a branch.

Harrows of Chicago, who ia at present traveling- in India. On June 23, 1S92, there arrived in this city from India a man who, by his dress, his manner and his speech was easily recognized as an Oriental religious student.

Not less remarkable than his appearance was tho story he told. He claimed to have discovered the remains of Noah's ark on the summit or Mt. Ararat. When released from the asylum Nouri claimed to have been robbed of four medals ft udded with diamonds, valued at $2,500, the gift of the Chaldean Creek Church i Vr -Chalmers Kaston believed in him and helped hint in his journey eastward. Later on he displayed his knowledge of Greek und in Washington, D.

at the Smithsonian Institution translated the. hieroglyphics on some tablets there with surprising ease. Intent on making his journey around the world, he traveled on to London, and from there came, in May, 1S94, the storv that he intended to sue the fnited States Government for $5,000,000 damage for ill treatment while on his sojourn here. Now comes the climax to the story in the letter fronj Rev. John II.

P4erce's Golden Medical Discovery is the only radical, scientific cure for disease. This remarkable Discovery" produces a rapid increase of the life-giving red corpuscles in the blood, which quickly clear out poisonous elements, stop morbid formations and build up new tissue in the vital parts. By this deep and searching- revitalizing process obstinate blood diseases, throat and bronchial affections and even advanced stages of consumption are arrested and permanently cured.
