July Washington Society expressed utmost interest yesterday in the announcement of the engagement of an Aiken Society girl to a prominent youthful-Virginia horseman. Just before supper was rinished, Miss Nell Green led the group in singing Pilot songs. After supper, the Pilots retired to the Club' House where they heard the reports from the International Pilot Convention in El Paso, Texas, four of the Pilots from Augusta having attended this convention.

Later in the evening several interesting games 'were played and enjoyed. Anne Inglis. Given Surprise Birthday Dinner by Friends and Relatives On June 29th, R. Lee Scott, who lives in the Mt. Pleasant sec tion of the county, was given a surprise birthday dinner by friends and relatives. Assembling at a neighbor's house, they drove to his home in a body with well prepared baskets.

A table was hastily assembled in the grove, from which a bountiful dinner was served.
