The parents of the Lehr boy were at first apprehensive, but as time passed and no svmptoms manifested themselves they reassured and the accident was almost forgotten.

The boy attended the school at Ilecker. Tuesdav. the lsth, exactly nine months aft--r he was bitten, the boy was playing in the yard of the school during the noon Intermission. Suddenly he began to dash at the other children and snap and bark and Biiarl at them like a dog. They thought It was all In the gamo and they danced out of his way with shouts of laughter.

Then he began to froth at the mouth, and the children saw that he was not acting. They ran into the school house and told the teacher, Henry Miller. He could not control the boy. and a couple of men were alled in. lie presently became quiet and was taken home.

There he was seized with a convulsion. The attacks of symptoms of TP bles and the convulsions have alternated lit short intervals ever since. Sometimes the attacks last two minutes, and sometimes as long as 15 minutes. The sufferings of the boy are intense, two or three men being required to hold him. "When his attacks are most violent It is necessary to hold him to the bed by means of ropes, stretched across It, so that he cannot bite the hands of the men.

Jf the vigilance of the watchers is relaxed the boy tries to jump out of a window and attacks the men ferociously, trying to bite and (ear their clothes with his teeth. Drs. Heidelberg of Ilecker and Ganther of Flora ville are attending the boy. They have called Dr. Washington West, of l-fellevllle in consultation.
