State Center Has May Fete The third annual May Day ceremony of Hazleton Penn State Center wits held last night at the Holy Trinity Hall with Shirlee VanNauker crowned May Queen. The festivities included all of the traditional color of similar affairs held by colleges throughout the nation and Amos A. Goss, administrative head of the HUC, presided at the coronation. Investigate Accidents At Harleigh, Rock Glen State police, yesterday investigated two accidents, one near Rock Glen and the other at Harleigh, involving cars operated by Edward Kishbaugh, of Sugarloaf, R.D. and William H. Roth, of 529 Grant street, No injuries were reported. Kishbaugh told police his auto was wrecked when he ran off the road and struck a tee to avoid hitting a car which had pulled out at an intersection.

The drier of the latter vehicle sped away after the crash. Police investigating the Roth accident at Harleigh vere told by the driver that a motorist, traveling in the opposite direction, crashed into the left side of his car damaging the left rear fender, door, bumper and tail light. Patrick McNamee Patrick McNamee, of 74 First street, Drifton, died this morning at 6:30 o'clock at his home, after a week's illness. He was born and reared in Drifton, resided a number of years in Detroit, where he was employed. He returned to Drifton about seven years ago.

He was a member of St. Ann's R. C. parish, Freeland, and of the Holy Name Society of that church. Surviving are a brother, Bert, and two sisters, Nellie and Mary, all home.

The funeral will be held 1 Friday morning at 9 o'clock from the residence, with a requiem high mass being celebrated at 9:30 in St. Ann's church, Freeland. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at Woodside. Bert Frye was admitted to Ashland State Bert. Frye, 73, of Ringtown, who Hospital on March 17, died at that institution on Tuesday.

He was a native of Zion Grove and had worked as a carpenter. Surviving are his widow, the former Clara Mensinger, 'of Zion Grove; two daughters, Mrs. Guy Horn and Mrs. Nellie Herbert, both of Ringtown, and five sons, Herbert, Treverton; Michael, Williamsport; Samuel, Michigan; Harold, of McKeansburg, and Paul, of Pottstown. Explains Radio To Rotarians A description and demonstration of the new State Police mobile telephone system, which will provide the State Police with the most modern system of rapid communications in the, country was given today before the Hazleton Rotary Club by Ralph commercial supervisor of the Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania at a luncheon meeting in the Altamont Hotel. The Bell Company is constructing and will maintain the new system, which will ultimately include 73 permanent transmitter-receivers, each connected with a State Police barracks, and 250 mobile telephone units in roving police cars. Included in the system is a transmitter-receiver at 215 West Broad s'eet which makes possible almost instantaneous communication between police cars working in this territory. Operation of the local station has bee: in effect since March 25th of this year.

Crellin was a son of Mrs. Sylvia and the late William and left Hazeton at an early age when his father was assigned to a post with the Dodson Coal Co. at Morea. He graduated at Mahanoy Township high school, class of 1924 and matriculated at Lafayette College. After interning at Jefferson Hospital, he practised at Frackville before locating at Shohola, He is survived by his widow and one son William.

His mother who resides at Shohola, also survives as does three brothers, John Crellin of Albany, Thomas of Shohola and James who is an 1 undertaker at Milford. and Mrs. Alfred E. Clattenberg, of 196 Lakeside Road, Ardmore, former residents of Hazleton, has been appointed by President Harry Truman as a member of the United States consul at Geneva. He has been a member of the diplomatic service abroad for the past ten years and is now in Geneva on official duty. He was born in Hazleton when his father was pastor of St.

Peter's Episcopal church and later located at Bala-Cynwyd where his father had assumed charge of a large parish. His wife and two children now reside at Chevy Chase, Maryland. Auto-Lite Plan Ready Shortly Announcement was made today that plans for the new Auto-Lite plant here may be completed by May 10 and that submitting of the same to local contractors will have a two weeks period for bidding on the work. This was the result of a meeting between the board of directors of the New Industrial Drive, and the legal staff that has been associated with the group throughout the entire period of negotiations and soliciting.
